Guests say

Bryn Gwynedd is a well-received cottage in Conwy, praised for its comfort, high-standard furnishings, and convenient location. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, spaciousness, and the views it offers. While some minor maintenance issues and suggestions for improvements are noted, the overall sentiment is positive with many guests expressing a desire to return.

The property is generally described as clean and well-presented. However, a few guests mentioned cobwebs, spiders, and a need for tidying up the garden, which slightly affected the score.

The location is highly praised for being quiet with views, and within walking distance to Conwy's amenities. The steep driveway is noted but does not significantly detract from the overall positive feedback.

Guests find the property comfortable, with special mentions of the beds and lounge furniture. Some concerns about the size of the shower and toilets are noted, but overall comfort is rated highly.

Facilities are generally good with high-spec appliances and sufficient kitchen amenities. Points are deducted for maintenance issues like non-working heated towel rails, broken TVs, and the absence of an information file.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owner. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

All of this and more awaits at Bryn Gwynedd.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is without doubt world famous for its historical and architectural heritage, yet at the heart of the town lies a hub of bustling activity. Alongside its ancient festivals and fairs, musical recitals, galleries and historical attractions, there is an array of specialist shops, restaurants and hotels. Built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, Master James of St George's design, Conwy Castle remains one of the most outstanding achievements of medieval military architecture. The distinctive, elongated shape, with its two barbicans, eight massive towers and a great bow-shaped hall was perhaps determined by the narrow rocky outcrop on which the castle stands. The town is proud of its historic traditions and celebrates its past by retaining many of these in its annual festivals, events and fairs, including the Honey fair, Seed fair and Gwledd Conwy Feast in October, along with other musical events throughout the year. Conwy is the perfect base for exploring the dramatic Snowdonia National Park, walking unspoilt sandy beaches, or taking in the wonderful scenery on your doorstep. Also within reach are the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which has the longest zip wire in Europe, and Surf Snowdonia is just six miles away.

Bad points garden could do with tidy up 1st floor shower room black mould outside of shower cubicle on floor and pink mould over a large surface of tile grout inside cubicle Bath room window handle hanging off and window frame very dirty because you can not shut it!

Plenty of room in the oven and fridge and there were enough pans and utensils. The lounge was comfortable for 6 people as was the dining table although it was a bit wobbly. Instructions for things like the tvs would have been useful and saved us having to contact the owner. The location was good although we hadn’t realised it was such a steep hill. With one infirm elderly person in our party we had to drive down into the town. Not the owner’s fault, more our lack of research. The downstairs shower drenched the floor and could probably do with a curtain at the end. The upstairs toilet was very tight, you have to squeeze around the door to get in/out. If the door opened out it would be easier to use. These were minor annoyances though. The beds were comfy, there was plenty of space and it was very tastefully furnished. The owner responded quickly to any queries and was really easy and friendly to deal with.

Bryn Gwynedd is a fabulous house in a great location just 5 minutes walk to Conwy. Having off road parking for both cars was great too. Would definitely recommend this property.
