Guests say

Guests appreciate the quiet surroundings, ample living space, and the proximity to local attractions. While some guests mention a musty smell and maintenance issues, the property's location and size are consistently praised.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviews indicate a range of experiences with cleanliness. Some guests found the property clean and tidy, while others reported mustiness and a lack of deep cleaning. The inconsistency leads to a below-average score.

The location is highly praised for its quietness, proximity to local amenities, and as a base for exploring North Wales. The scenic and peaceful setting contributes to a high score.

Guests enjoy the spaciousness and layout of the property, but comfort is compromised by reports of poor mattress quality and noise from the floor above. The mixed feedback results in an average score.

Facilities like the kitchen and living areas are appreciated, but several guests mention issues with appliances, dampness, and maintenance needs. The presence of modern appliances is noted, but the need for updates and repairs affects the score.

Several guests mention receiving a welcome pack or wine, indicating thoughtfulness from the host. However, as these gifts are not consistently reported by all reviewers, the score reflects that such gestures, while appreciated, may not be guaranteed.

About this property

This lovely ground floor apartment is located in the owners’ detached home, situated in a quiet residential cul-de-sac less than a mile from the delightful village of Rhos-on-Sea, on the picturesque coastline of North Wales. The apartment is an ideal base for couples and families, with the benefit of being on the ground floor. The accommodation is spacious, comfortable and homely, decorated to a good standard throughout. With a warming flame-effect gas fire, the sitting room is a cosy place to relax after a busy day and settle down to watch a good film on the large flat-screen TV. The room also has a dining area where you can enjoy dinner as you discuss the day’s excursions and the kitchen is well equipped with a central island, where you can enjoy a morning coffee whilst planning the day ahead. The two bedrooms are well appointed and comfortable, including a main bedroom with a king-size bed so you can be sure of a good night’s sleep. Outside this lovely apartment is a paved patio area with furniture, parking and a garage which is perfect to secure bikes, kayaks and other watersports equipment. The village of Rhos-on-Sea is nearby, with its array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a superb beach that is ideal for bathing. You can take a stroll along the main promenade whilst watching the seaside activities and boats in the harbour, or stop and visit one of the many shops and cafes along the front. Enthusiastic walkers can explore Conwy Mountain or climb Mount Snowdon, a short drive away. Llandudno is also each to reach in the car, where you can take the cable car or the Great Orme Tramway to the summit of the Great Orme, and maybe enjoy a picnic at the top whilst admiring the superb views which stretch for miles. Slightly further afield is the town of Conwy, a designated World Heritage Site. A true medieval gem, Conwy is dominated by a splendid castle and completely enclosed by its well-preserved town walls. With so much to see and do in this wonderful portion of Wales, Treetops is ideally located to visit at any time of year with friends and family!

Rhos-on-Sea, a town on the North Wales coast, is four miles from Victorian Llandudno and 18 miles from popular inland destination Betws-y-Coed. Rhos-on-Sea has an attractive harbour and a relaxed air, and is sandwiched between two bays; Penrhyn and Colwyn. The town offers shops, pubs and restaurants, and the area is full of opportunities for walking, fishing, sailing, watersports and golf.

The interior is tired and in need of an update particularly the toilet and bathroom. Attention to detail is poor, costumers and cushions on the suite.

Living room and kitchen are big, bedrooms are fine, bathroom too. But there are a couple of things that put us off. Some things cannot be helped, e.g. the living room being rather dark in due to the surrounding trees so we had the lights on during the day. But what we really found off-putting was the musky smell, especially in the kitchen cupboards that clung to all the kitchenware. We quickly decided to wash up the stuff we needed like cups and saucers, glasses etc (to get rid of the smell) and leave them on the worktop until we left. It is a shame because it was a good place to stay but it is in dire need of some sort of ventilation system to prevent this from happening, especially when it is not rented out.
