Guests say

Guests generally appreciate the cosy, well-equipped Tyddyn Derwen cottage, set in a tranquil, rural location on the Bodnant Estate. The property offers a delightful retreat with beautiful walks and a welcoming atmosphere. Some minor concerns were raised about access during adverse weather and limited mobile signal.

The cottage is described as super clean and comfortable, with no negative comments about cleanliness, suggesting high standards are maintained. However, one review mentioned the need for better cleaning of window sills, slightly lowering the score.

The location is praised for its beauty and tranquillity, with great walks and a remote, peaceful setting. However, concerns about difficult access via narrow, steep roads, especially in wet or icy conditions, and the lack of mobile signal have been noted.

Reviews consistently mention the cottage's comfort, with a cosy atmosphere and comfy beds. The property is described as a lovely retreat, although one comment about dim lounge lighting slightly affects the score.

The cottage is well-equipped and guests are pleased with the amenities, but there are remarks about limited initial supplies of logs, dated bathrooms, and a rusty drying rack. These issues indicate room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

While guests mention a welcome hamper, the reviews vary in their satisfaction with its contents, and there is no consistent reference to other thoughtful gestures. As gifts are not guaranteed, it is not possible to accurately score thoughtfulness based on the available information.

Idyllic location and wonderful for dog walks.

Lovely warm cottage in remote location. Very narrow and steep roads to get there, with few passing places made getting there a bit scary. Once there the setting is so quiet, tranquil and beautiful, set in the woods with lots of walks from the doorstep

Peaceful setting, well equipped kitchen, but certainly not luxury. Bathrooms were dated, window sills needed cleaning (full of debris and dead insects). Rusty drying rack- I mean, doesn’t take much to replace? To be called luxury would need renovation of bathrooms and proper cleaning.. The welcome pack was a nice touch.
