My husband would’ve preferred a pack of logs for the log burner though! It was too late for us to buy wood by the time we arrived as the local shop shuts early. He spent the whole week bumping in to the low ceilings so if you’re tall, this probably isn’t the best cottage for you! My only complaint is that there is an issue with mice in the master bedroom, I could hear them throughout the night in the room, the floorboards and the ceiling space above. There were also spiderwebs above the bed. I got very little sleep due to the noise and my fear of rodents which meant I had little energy for the activities we had planned. Geoff was great, very friendly, and he did come out as soon as we told him about the mice and put some poison down. Unfortunately, this had no effect at all. The mattress in this room was also quite uncomfortable, as were the ones in the large twin room, however the ones in the small twin room were really comfortable. The kitchen is great, a good size with all necessary equipment, and brilliant pans for cooking. The bathroom has a big bath, and overhead shower and there’s always hot water. The cottage is brilliantly decorated throughout, and has a really homely feel which was lovely in the evenings. There’s even a bookshelf with a good variety of books for those days that are too rainy to venture out (we had a couple of those) or for a relaxing evening in. Overall, our stay here was good. Geoff is really friendly, and all of the locals were helpful, offering places for us to take the children and even returned the phone our youngest dropped on our way back from the pub. We highly recommend the pub too, great food and friendly staff.

Very good location with a friendly Pub , “The Old Stag”” and village Shop both with reasonable prices , excellent base for touring in any direction. Geoff was a really nice man to meet and we look forward to seeing him again in March 2022

Geoff was an incredibly responsive and flexible host - friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. The farmhouse itself has a charming rustic style, is well-appointed with the necessary items in the kitchen and throughout and affords plenty of space. It was great having an enclosed garden for our dog. The basket of local produce provided by Geoff and Karen was a lovely touch. There is so much to do and see in the local area - we visited a different attraction every day over the 10-days of our stay and there was still more we would like to have done.
