Bed was extremely uncomfortable so had no sleep all week and there is no handrail at top of stairs so my elderly mum couldn't get up the stairs and ended up sleeping on sofa in living room . Also no instant hot water without having to turn on water heater and could only put it on 15 mins so it does not overheat. Also exposed wiring in light above shower so was worried about showering

A lovely break in a beautiful cottage which was so conveniently located. There were lovely little touches such as toiletries and it was cosy and a real home from home. The owners communicated brilliantly and were quick to resolve any minor issues. I would highly recommend Watkin Cottage.

We booked 4 nights at Watkin Cottage, Conwy. It is a lovely quaint cottage in a street that is actually within the walls of the old castle. When we arrived we put the gas fire on, and within no time at all, we were needing to turn it down as it heated up the cottage quite quickly, the small wall raditors keep the cottage nice and snug also, location is very good for your base to explore the town and a set of steps/stairs just across the road take you up and onto the top of the castle walls which you can walk around, there are a few steep-ish parts on the wall, but nothing too bad, i have trouble walking, but found this was just within my range and ability. Amazingly, history states that the whole castle, Royal apartments and the rest, was built in just 4 years, i am having a hard time digesting that fact, 4 years is an amazing feat for the 1500 men who built the castle that has a total length of 1.4km or just under 1 mile, so sure that could not be replicated today, anyway, would i recommend Watkin Cottage, of course i would, and i am sure we will return later this year or early next year.
