Ewenny Cottage is a well-loved and homely property, praised for its warm and comfortable atmosphere. Guests appreciate the secure garden for dogs, the well-equipped kitchen, and the easy parking. Its proximity to beautiful beaches and local amenities, along with its suitability for groups, makes it a recommendable stay. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, but these did not detract from the overall positive experiences.
The cottage is generally clean, with guests finding it tidy upon arrival. However, one review mentioned the presence of dog hair on the living room carpet, suggesting room for improvement in vacuuming.
The location is highly regarded, with easy access from the M4 motorway and close proximity to Ogmore by Sea, Bridgend, and Porthcawl. The convenience of a well-stocked shop within walking distance is also appreciated.
Most guests found the cottage comfortable, especially noting the king size bed. However, there was a suggestion for mattress toppers on the twin beds to enhance comfort.
The facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and useful laundry appliances. Some guests suggested minor improvements, such as providing pegs for hanging laundry and addressing the long, wet grass in the garden.

Ewenny Cottage rests in a tranquil cul-de-sac in the coastal village of Ewenny, famous for the oldest pottery in Wales. It is a delightful family holiday home with a large, enclosed garden and patio for alfresco dining. As you enter the front door, there is a twin bedroom, a bathroom and a spacious sitting room with an open fire for relaxing nights in. Large patio doors lead through to the garden with a beautiful alfresco area for warm summer evenings. The sunny dining room leads to a galley kitchen which overlooks the garden . Upstairs there is a bedroom with a king-size bed and a single bed next door to a pretty children’s room with a bunk bed and an extra mattress if needed. A bathroom/shower room completes the picture. For over 50 years the owners of this cottage have enjoyed family holidays to Ewenny so it holds a very special place in their hearts and they would love to share this very magical part of the world with you.
Ewenny is just two miles from Ogmore-by-Sea beach (dog friendly) and Southerndown beach and local pubs, restaurants, coffee shops and shops are all within easy reach by car, foot or bicycle. With Cardiff, Penarth and Cowbridge, the famous market town, to the east and Porthcawl, Swansea and The Mumbles (the Gateway to The Gower) to the west, there is a wealth of attractions for all the family to enjoy. Ewenny is the perfect destination for rambling, cycling, horse-riding on the beach, surfing (Rest Bay Watersports Centre is 5 miles away) and golfing with Celtic Manor and the Principality Stadium less than an hour away.
