Guests say

Chapel House in Llangollen offers a clean, comfortable stay with lovely views and is an ideal base for exploring North Wales. Guests appreciate the friendly local atmosphere and the property's unique charm, though some mention minor maintenance issues.

Most guests found the property clean and well-presented, but there were comments about debris on the sofa, cobwebs, and low-level dust, suggesting room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for its quiet village setting and lovely views, making it a perfect base for exploring the area.

Guests found the beds comfortable and the showers good. However, some noted the lack of blinds or curtains in some areas, affecting privacy and sleep quality.

Facilities like WiFi and showers are commended, but issues with heating, hot water, and maintenance detract from the overall experience. The property could benefit from some tender loving care.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owner, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

The heart of the scenic Ceiriog Valley in Wrexham County, North Wales, is Glyn Ceiriog. There are many ways to enjoy the great outdoors in this picturesque valley, which Lloyd George once referred to as "a little piece of heaven on earth," including hiking, horseback riding, and cycling. Glyn Ceiriog, once the hub of the valley's slate mining industry, is three miles south of Llangollen and provides a good selection of neighbourhood amenities, including two village pubs, a Post Office with a cafe and tourist information, a well-stocked village store, and a community sports centre with a variety of activities like bicycle rental, tennis, indoor bowling, and table tennis. Numerous attractions are found close by, including the majestic Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, which is a World Heritage Site and well worth a visit. Why not travel to the well-known town of Llangollen, home to the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, which is situated alongside the River Dee, which is dotted with boulders? The town has a beautiful mountain background and offers a nice selection of taverns and restaurants in addition to numerous unique stores. Take a thrilling climb up to Castell Dinas Brân, high above the town, to take in the breath-taking panorama, or explore the Dee Valley by steam train or canal boat! Chirk Castle and Erddig, both owned by the National Trust, are accessible by automobile, and a day's drive will take you to six of Wales' Seven Wonders. Visit the Old Hill Fort at Oswestry, go for a stroll along the crest of the Clwydian Hills on Offa's Dyke Path, or use the national rail system to travel to the Roman city of Chester, Shrewsbury, and other places. Only one side of the toaster worked.

Enjoyed our stay. No toilet roll on arrival. Pint of milk in fridge would be good.

  • Stefan

No warm shower - but it was rainy and cold outside. No reaction by the owner.
