The facilities were adequate, but there were issues with cooking equipment for a family, heating control, and a stiff lock on the back door.

While guests appreciated the tea, coffee, sugar, and milk provided, there is not enough information to assess the consistency of such thoughtful gestures, and they should not be expected.

Parking was an issue though. Ohh and I didn’t log out of Netflix if you could ask the homeowner to log me out please.

Everything that I needed. Lovely garden. I had a very relaxing stay. Only downside was not realising the cottage was in the middle of a steep hill with parking at top or bottom of the hill. I found it hard carrying luggage and shopping from the car.

The cottage itself is pretty and it was nice and clean as we arrived but we discovered just a few things that were missing/lacking in order to make our stay perfect. We had planned to cook our own meals for a couple of the nights we were there (specifically one pot meals as they’re easier for us as a family) however, there was nothing to actually do the cooking in - Pyrex dishes etc. The 2 frying pans that were available were both small and not big enough to cook for a family of 4 so we ended up with takeaways and wasting food. (Also, being particularly picky, no Prosecco or Pint glasses to enjoy a beverage.) Of an evening, the cottage got quite chilly but there was no option for us to put the heating on as this was automatic/we weren’t allowed to touch it and there was also no fuel for the fire for us to use - we ended up cuddled up under a blanket. On the first night we locked the back door and once we tried to open it in the morning, the lock was so stiff that we could not work it. For love nor money, that back door would not open. We tried every morning and night but to no avail until finally, on the morning of our departure, we managed to get it open with some kind of magic touch. This meant we had 3 full days with all of our rubbish in the kitchen, nowhere to dry our wet towels or washing and no use of the outdoor space which was a shame as this was one of the main reasons we booked the cottage as our 2 young children love playing outside. Overall a cosy cottage but it didn’t quite live up to expectations for us.
