  The house is lovely. I loved it, but overall some of our family were less keen on the cows in paddocks right next to the house. They did moo a lot in the mornings but the ad does say the house is on a working farm. Maybe the type of farm and proximity of animals could be specified on the description.I was born and raised in the country so it didn’t bother me in the slightest, but one of my sons has sensory issues and did not cope with the smells very well. We joked that letting sites should do a scratch and sniff option for houses in the country side lol.There was loads of space in the house and it was well equipped. I wonder if it would be possible to get a tumble dryer or heated clothes rail. We had quite a bit of rain and there was a lot of mud on the walls and as there were a lot of us, and the weather wasn’t cold enough to warrant any heating, and with a single drying rack, we struggled to get all our laundry done as the clothes took over 24 hours to dry. I’m sure that a heated clothes rack would be a great help and very cost effective.The other thing that was a bit frustrating was the layout of the kitchen utensils. It was wonderfully well equipped, but, for example, the mugs were stored in an eye level cupboard on the opposite side of the kitchen from the kettle, which was sensibly next to the sink. There are cupboards above the kettle area that could Ouse the mugs. The cutlery was in a drawer under the hob, which meant that when the kids needed to lay the table, I had to keep moving away from the hob to let them access the drawer. If the cutlery were moved to the other side next to the dishwasher, then that would free up space in the drawer under the hob for the chopping boards, which are currently in a drawer on the opposite side of the kitchen. These issues are only minor, but because there is a kitchen island, there was a bit of a traffic jam when trying to navigate to different parts of the kitchen. These issues things I’ve suggested would be easy fixes and cost nothing.The last issue which is relatively easily remedied is that there are no curtains in the bedrooms, just vertical blinds. Whilst these are great for privacy, they are not great for keeping the room dark. As it was summer, the light (plus the mooing) did cause some of our group to have disturbed holiday lie-ins. Apart from these very few minor/easily fixed bits and bobs, the house is fabulous and we loved staying.The only other thing I forgot to mention is that the WiFi isn’t great, but that is absolutely to be expected in the countryside. Again, as a country bumpkin this didn’t surprise me in the slightest, but perhaps make it more prominent in the ad for the house, just in case someone staying needs reliable internet whilst there.

  We've just spent a week here, it's great!! Big enough for our 11 adults and 4 kids. Lovely and clean all of the beds and sofas were very comfortable. Nice location with town and takeaways just up the road. We had the pleasure of cows and sheep as our neighbours and it made our trip so much nicer. Owners are also lovely. Couldn't ask for more. This was our second stay here and we would definitely return. 5 stars every time
