Porthmadog 1.1 miles. Nestled in the idyllic village of Borth-y-Gest near Porthmadog is this wonderful three-bedroom terraced house, Bryn Derfel. Enjoying close proximity to the village’s picturesque harbour and all the delights of the neighbouring Porthmadog, Bryn Derfel is a fantastic dog-friendly dwelling for a group or family of six, plus their canine companion. Park up at the roadside and be greeted by a charming front enclosed patio with table and chairs, the perfect spot for savouring your morning coffee. Be welcomed into the well-equipped kitchen, featuring a handy dishwasher, here you can cook up delicious meals for your loved ones, ready to enjoy at the breakfast bar, dining table for six or alfresco in the rear enclosed garden which has two dining spots! After dinner, why not savour the last of the day’s sunshine out in the rear garden, where you can sip a glass of wine out on the patio or raised terrace with lovely picnic bench and fire pit, before enjoying a game of table tennis or darts in the garage, which also offers plenty of storage for bikes and kayaks! As the evening grows darker, retire to the contemporary sitting room, where you can snuggle up on the plush seating and select a family favourite on the Smart TV, as your pooch takes up their favourite spot in front of the electric fire. Climb the stairs up to the first floor, where you can wash away the day in the large double shower, before catching your rest in one of three well-appointed bedrooms, a super-king-size with zip/link, a king-size with Smart TV and a single with truckle, all with plenty of storage for your belongings. Explore your local surroundings, where you can enjoy leisurely walks along the harbour followed by a hearty breakfast or sweet treat at the Seaview Café Bistro & Coffee Lounge. For a wider selection of amenities, head into Porthmadog, where you can explore the Maritime Museum, dine at the welcoming eateries of Banc, The Australia and The Port Café Deli & Restaurant, or hop aboard a vintage steam train and relax as you soak up the amazing views for 14-miles along the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways. Other activities include the Traeth Glaslyn North Wales Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve, the Black Rock Llamas, the excellent Porthmadog Golf Club, and the golden sands of Morfa Bychan, where you can bathe, paddle the shores or take your kayak out on the Afon Dwyryd. Porthmadog sits on the Glaslyn Estuary and is surrounded by beautiful scenery. It is possible to travel by steam through the breathtaking scenery of Eryri (Snowdonia) to Blaenau Ffestiniog or Caerforn from Porthmadog, the entrance to the Snowdonia National Park. Porthmadog also has a number of unique shops and restaurants. Borth Y Gest, a charming seaside village with cliffs and coves, is only a short drive or walk away. It's only a short drive from here to Portmeirion, the world-famous Italianate seaside resort. Portmeirion, the setting for The Prisoner and the final episode of Cold Feet, sits on a rugged clifftop on its own private peninsula surrounded by miles of sandy beaches and woodlands. Criccieth and Harlech castles, as well as unspoilt beaches such as Black Rock Sands, can also be found in the area. Zip World Slate Caverns and Bounce Below are also nearby and offer a variety of activities for the whole family, including thrilling zip lines and exploration of underground caverns. The Eryri (Snowdonia) and Lleyn Peninsula attractions are easily accessible from here.

    The attention to detail is very well thought out and the house is in a perfect location for access to the beach and walking distance to the town. We would definitely like to stay here again.

    The cottage was lovely. Great comfy sofas, lovely soft bed linen, nice fluffy towels. Well appointed and very clean, the owners had thought of everything. Great little touches like the mini torches and the nice welcome pack including the gravy bones for our little pooch. We had amazing weather which added to the enjoyment . Would highly recommend , Borth y Gest and it’s beaches are very special.
