What our customers say about their holidays

After a shaky start we had a lovely week.

It's a great house and would be fantastic in summer with its big garden and short walk to the beautiful beach, which was still nice in the winter. I had best mention the bad points though. We had to contact the owner by phone to ask how to turn on the heating. He has to do it remotely, so if the thermostat won't go above 7 degrees that's what you have to do and hope he's not away on business like he was when we tried to contact him about the key. The upstairs of the property never really got warm even by the end of our stay. The kitchen was clean on the surface, but inside the cupboards and drawers needed a good clean before we could use them and the inside of the freezer was mouldy; it must have been turned off at some point over the winter and I think someone must have burst a bottle of wine in it because it looks like there is frozen wine in the bottom. The grill pan was dirty and had a old food on it from a previous occupant. We couldn't work the grill (that could be my fault) but there were plenty of frying pan alternatives. Finally, the built in fridge doesn't get cold enough for food so the welcome milk soon had to be thrown out. It looks like other people have had this problem because the worn thermostat control looks like there have been plenty of attempts to make it colder. There is another fridge though, so use that one for food and the other for making drinks slightly chilled. Other than that the kitchen was very well equipped and we really did have a good time!

We really enjoyed our stay at Lle Bach cottage. It’s situated in such a quiet and peaceful location, so peaceful, in fact, that our 10 month old baby slept through the night for the first time in months! Immersed in nature, it was a real treat to hear the gentle hum of the animals on the farm while brushing your teeth. The drive down to the cottage is beautiful, surrounded by hills and greenery with little stone bridges that look like they’re from the pages of a fairytale, you really do feel like you’ve found a little secret paradise. The cottage is very well equipped, all the practical elements of holidaying with young children were covered and there’s loads to do in the area. Location wise it couldn’t have been better for exploring Harlech castle, grabbing an ice-cream on Black Rock Sands, and zip wiring in Blaenau Ffestiniog. The owners were very friendly and accommodating, and they gave us some handy tips on the area to help us make the most of our stay. If you’re looking for a well situated and peaceful retreat, we would highly recommend booking here.

Disappointed at poor standard of cleaning evident on arrival.

Many cobwebs in numerous rooms which had clearly been there for some time. The lounge area had debris including dead insects and dust around skirting and edges of the room. Artificial flowers and shell/basket weave decorations are in dire need of cleaning. Whilst kitchen cutlery appeared clean, the cutlery holder in drawer was dirty with food debris and dust and required cleaning. Kitchen surfaces were clean as was linen provided. Sinks and showers were clean but, in current circumstances, we would have expected a more thorough cleaning regime. It was disappointing that the shower in the Family bathroom was out of order. Whilst the photographs show rooms and furniture in the property, they don't show that the property is "tired" and in need of decorating. Saving graces are layout of lounge, kitchen diner and patio and, of course, the location and views. This could be a spectacular property with more attention.

Bryn Y Mor is a wonderful spacious house with the most amazing sea views out of nearly every window.

There are interesting knick knacks everywhere and is obviously a very much loved family home rather than just a holiday home. The owners were very helpful and contacted us before our visit to let us know that one of the four showers was out of action. Our four year old grandson loved the library where he could watch TV and play undisturbed with his toys. There is so much to see and do nearby. There are just a couple of suggestions to improve the experience. The Aga cooker which was a novel way to cook, heated the kitchen and also the bedroom above it far too much making it very uncomfortable sleeping during a hot week. Also we felt that all the 4 showers are in need of upgrading along with some other appliances such as the electric kettle and TV's. We did have a wonderful family holiday though and would still recommend this holiday rental to others.

Stunning location, views of the sea and mountains from the living room and kitchen, and the view from the main bedroom balcony was amazing.

The house is more like a family home than a holiday let, full of personal homely items. Bed linen and towels were clean,as were kitchen and bathroom work surfaces but there were some cleaning issues elsewhere, especially the bedroom down the steps, above the garage, many old cobwebs, and also across the ceiling in the main bedroom bathroom. The garden is lovely, but in danger of becoming overgrown. I suggest that the instructions for the dishwasher, microwave etc could be placed in the information package and left out,we had to hunt through the kitchen drawers for them! And what a shame that the garden pond has neglected, there are photos of it in its full glory in the living room. All in all,a superb location and an interesting comfortable place to stay - with some attention over the coming years this place could, and should, be outstanding.
