Guests say

Bwthyn y Dderwen (Oak Cottage) is praised for its peaceful rural setting, stunning views, and friendly, welcoming hosts. Guests appreciate the child- and pet-friendly environment, well-equipped kitchens, and comfortable accommodation, making it ideal for families and dog owners. The location is convenient for exploring North Wales. Some guests noted areas for improvement, such as occasional maintenance issues, cleaning standards, and the condition of the children's play area. Overall, the cottage offers a tranquil and enjoyable base for a holiday in North Wales.

Many guests found the cottage clean and tidy, but several reviews mention issues such as dust, cobwebs, and a smell of drains, as well as a need for deeper cleaning in some areas. Cleanliness appears inconsistent, with most guests satisfied but a minority reporting significant concerns.

The location is frequently described as peaceful, rural, and ideal for exploring the region, with beautiful views and easy access to local attractions. The only negative mentioned is the rough access lane, but this did not detract significantly from guests' enjoyment.

Guests generally found the cottage comfortable, cosy, and homely, with good beds and a relaxing atmosphere. A few noted minor issues such as spiral stairs and small shower cubicles, but overall comfort was highly rated.

The cottage is well-equipped for families and self-catering, with positive comments on kitchen appliances, toys, and outdoor space. However, several guests reported maintenance issues (e.g., shower, kitchen units, play area) and suggested some facilities could be updated or better maintained.

The hosts are frequently described as friendly, welcoming, and attentive, especially towards families with young children and pet owners. While some guests appreciated thoughtful touches like baby equipment, please note that such items or gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

) The location were beautiful and although rural, close to the main roads via a 5 min drive along a 1 lane track. We got a warm welcome to the cottage from Ann and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It ensured we had a relaxing and happy stay which was needed. The beds were clean and comfortable. Quiet at night and car parked a small walk away from the cottage. Plenty of space in the cottage, cosy warm. Powerful shower but cubicle slightly small. If a larger person may struggle to wash in there. Kitchen provided most of what was needed for us to cook a range of meals. A measuring jug, pair of scissors and spatula would be useful additions. Good to have a dishwasher and washing machine. Wifi was intermittent at times but we used that as an advantage to get teenage daughter off their phones. Overall a fabulous place to stay and would recommend. Good value for money with a location close to many other towns/attractions.
