Tywyn itself is a friendly seaside town with a long, sandy beach, ideal for traditional days by the sea, watersports or simply enjoying the coastal views. The town centre is within easy walking distance and offers a selection of shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants, along with a leisure centre and the popular Magic Lantern Cinema. The Talyllyn Railway, the world’s first preserved railway, is also based here and provides a scenic journey into the surrounding countryside.

The area is well placed for exploring the wider coastline and countryside of southern Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. The Welsh Coast Path runs through Tywyn, offering miles of scenic walking with views out to Cardigan Bay, where dolphins are often spotted. For those looking to head inland, Cadair Idris is within easy reach and offers a range of walking routes, from more challenging hikes to gentler trails with rewarding views.

Further along the coast, you’ll find a few quieter beaches and charming villages to explore, making this a great base for a varied holiday. Whether you’re looking to relax by the sea, enjoy coastal walks or explore the mountains, Dihangfa Wylau provides a comfortable and convenient place to stay.
