Inside, the traditionally furnished rooms provide a perfect place for small families or couples and pair of canine companions to unwind.

After active days outdoors, the open-plan living room is full of character, with a wood burner, TV and DVD offering all the comforts of home. To one end, the kitchen/diner has all you’ll need to cook up a storm, and a ground floor cloakroom ensures convenience for all. Upstairs you’ll find two bedrooms – one king-size and one twin – each with gorgeous countryside views, A family bathroom and separate WC are located on this level too. For a breath of fresh air with a backing track of birdsong, the garden here is ideal – south-facing, private and lawned, it comes complete with outdoor furniture, a BBQ and firepit. This rural idyll is less than 4 miles from the market town of Abergavenny, famous for its Norman Castle, farmers’ markets, and annual Food Festival. Work up an appetite before you visit with a walk or cycle ride – there are numerous trails from the doorstep. Alternatively, drive 20 miles west and you’ll reach the cathedral town of Brecon – the beating heart of the national park, it is famed for its Georgian architecture and waterside walks.
