Excellent walking can be enjoyed nearby along Offa's Dyke, and the Wye and Monnow Valleys, while good fishing is available at the Rivers Monnow and Wye and local lakes. Cycling is also available nearby and in the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons), just half an hour away. With the lovely towns of Monmouth, Symonds Yat and Ross-on-Wye all within easy reach, this is a superb Welsh Newton cottage for couples and families alike.

Welsh Newton is close to the English and Welsh borders and to the town of Monmouth. If walking is your hobby then Welsh Newton is a good choice for you because there are lots of exciting walking routes to take including the famous Offa's Dyke. You could also opt for guided trips through the lush land of the Monnow Valleys. The town of Monmouth is 4 miles away and has a great deal to offer. Expect to see refined Georgian houses and decorative courtyards built in Victorian times dotted around the town. Of course, there's many quality shops to visit in Monmouth too and a good smattering of pubs and restaurants to try out through your holiday.
