About this property

The Brambles is a delightful, semi-detached property settled in the town of Monmouth. With off-road parking, and pet-friendly accommodation, this is an ideal base for friends, families, and their four-legged companions, resting in Monmouthshire, South Wales. Be welcomed by this abode, unpacking into a light and airy property sporting a sitting room with a Smart TV, ideal for movie nights in. The kitchen/diner is a spacious room, encouraging guests to make the most of the many amenities available and cook up a storm, which can be enjoyed at the dining table, whilst the washing machine and tumble dryer will take care of your laundry. When the sun is shining, head outside to dine alfresco, or enjoy a glass of your favourite beverage in the evening sunshine, before taking an indulgent dip in the bubbling hot tub; an ideal way to end an adventurous day. The first of the three bedrooms can be found on the ground floor and is a king-size, serviced by a ground-floor shower room. There are two further twin bedrooms on the first floor, serviced by a bathroom. Your holiday location is perfectly situated at the start of the Peregrine Cycle Path leading through to Symonds Yat, which is well known as one of the best places in the country to watch Peregrine Falcons. Nearby, Monmouth is a lovely town offering a great selection of amenities and attractions, including cafés, pubs, and eateries. Options include Whole Earth Bistro, Estero Lounge, and The Castle Inn. The town also has convenience stores for all of your holiday essentials, the historic Monmouth Castle and Monnow Bridge, a local museum, and walks past Monmouth Viaduct. Local attractions include Blasmere Amusement Park, the Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo, St Briavels Castle, and the impressive Clearwell Caves. Situated in the Wye Valley National Landscape, there are a great many scenic walks to be enjoyed, including those at the Forest of Dean, Yat Rock, and King Arthur’s Cave. The property is also within reach of the impressive Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, where there are a great many walks and wildlife-watching opportunities to be enjoyed. All of this and so much more with a stay at The Brambles.

An intriguing market town on the border between Wales and England and close to the exceptional Offa’s Dyke, this wonderful town combines old and new, from the old castle ruins to the vibrant weekly market. Located at the confluence of 3 rivers – the Wye, the Monnow and the Trothy, it is an excellent base to enjoy river boating, scenic walks and a little shopping too, or to sit and relax on the edge of the river and watch the rowers who regularly race and practise their skills. Monmouth is most famous as the birthplace of Henry V and offers the opportunity to see historic buildings, the preserved medieval 13th century bridge over the river Monnow (the only one of its kind in Britain) and the famous Nelson Garden. This is truly a small town with a huge array of interesting sights to visit. The surrounding areas are steeped in history too and short drives will take you to nearby Usk, Abergavenny, Ross-on-Wye and even into the spectacular Brecon Beacons, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. A perfect location with so much to see for all ages.

It was stocked with kitchen basics which is a huge bonus. The hot tub was great and lovely to see it was maintained daily during our stay. The only suggestion I have is to put hooks outside for towels while using the hot tub and a retractable line to use for drying.

Nice stay for a group of friends or family or both! Beds were super comfortable, heating was easy to control, heated towel rails were great - hot tub a bonus. Just one or two basics we feel could be added and we would have given 5 stars: Great to have a washing line - some pegs would have been fab (unless we didn’t find them!) Some tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper etc just as basic additions in the kitchen as you wouldn’t always think of bringing those bits. Potentially a little welcome pack would be great to let people know that you guys are next door, where things are, things to do in the local area, guidelines for check out etc (eg stripping beds)
