Situated in Mathry with its village green, a dog friendly pub serving food all day, tea rooms and restaurant, Little Roost is a lovely, cosy base to return to. It’s also just a short drive or walk from Pembrokeshire’s north coast and beaches. Nearby, Porthgain Harbour is an almost undiscovered jewel of the county steeped in history and still used as a small, local, fishing harbour, and also has links to the famous gallery of artist John Knapp Fisher and the Preseli Mountains with its long walks and burial chambers. The north coast of Pembrokeshire is an ideal location for the perfect getaway, an untouched and historic part of Wales - one of the great walking destinations of the UK. Hose riding, golf, coasteering and surf lessons all nearby. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

My sister and I stayed at Little Roost for a week over the New Year. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time.The owner, Victoria, was kind and helpful, even coming out to the main road to lead us to our cottage after we had got lost. She remained on hand for the duration of our stay, ready to answer questions and offer help when needed.The cottage is excellent. We found it clean, comfortable, and full of everything we would need for our week away. Though the garden was small, it was completely self-contained and secure, which was just what we needed for our dog. Mathry is a lovely little village, full of history, with some lovely traditional buildings and a stunning, if austere (from the outside), village church. It was a little farther from St David's than we are used to, but it still has easy access to everything you might need. The views, from the village green and the little bench on the outskirts of the village, are spectacular. One thing both our dog and I valued very highly was the peace, especially over the New Year. We would certainly book Little Roost again.

We had a lovely stay at Little Roost, the house was beautifully prepared for our visit & the welcome parcel was much appreciated. The property is very well located for visits to all the local beaches and the wonderful city of St David’s. The owners were kind enough to provide a comprehensive list of walks, restaurants and local places of interest. They also decorated the house for Xmas, which along with the log burner provided a very festive atmosphere for our stay. The kids happily utilised the provided Wii & DVD’s to entertain themselves during our visit. I would happily stay at the property again & would highly recommend it to anyone.
