Park up with enough space for three cars, taking in your new rural, surroundings. Step inside and be welcomed by the handy utility, where you can store your muddy walking boots and coats, before heading into the homely living/dining room, a great space for gathering together, featuring a woodburning stove and plenty of seating to curl up and relax. Step outside and explore the nearby village of St Dogmaels and market town of Cardigan, where you will find a selection of independent shops, eateries and pubs, with the River Teifi running through the heart of both. The Abbey of St Dogmaels, established in the 12th century, is a must-visit when in the village as is the castle in Cardigan which played host to the first ever Welsh Eisteddfod in 1176. A short drive away lies Cilgerran, home to the Welsh Wildlife Centre and its own imposing Norman castle. With the coast nearby, spend time visiting Ceibwr Beach, Poppit Sands Beach and further down to Newport Beach in popuar Newport. Visit the magnificent 5500 year old Neolithic Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber and if you're feeling adventurous, take a hike up to Carningli, to take in spectacular views of Cardigan Bay, before returning home in time for sundown. Enjoy all of north Pembrokeshire’s delights at Fountain Folly.

St Dogmaels is an ancient and tranquil village nestling peacefully around its ruined abbey at the mouth of the River Teifi on the totally unspoiled west Wales coast. One of its attractions is Y Felin, one of only two working watermills in Wales and retains the machinery installed in 1820. It is thought the mill was originally built by the monks of St Dogmaels' 12th century Abbey. The miller shows how the mill works and bread, flour and cakes can be purchased from the mill or you can enjoy tea and cakes and light lunches in the Coach House Café nearby. An award winning local produce market is held here every Tuesday and is well worth a visit. The village has a pub, a fish & chip shop, a Post Office, a cafe and a small museum at the abbey. There is also a pretty green and a millpond with ducks. Cardigan, a delightful ancient market town, is just over a mile away. This ancient town sits on the estuary of the River Teifi at the base of Cardigan Bay. Its unspoilt townscape and rich heritage provide a nostalgic backdrop to a thriving culture of arts and crafts, events and music festivals. Nearby is the wonderful Poppit Sands where you can relax on sunny days or enjoy invigorating walks in the cooler months, as well as exploring the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast Path. St Dogmaels is the start or finish of the 186 mile Pembrokeshire Coast Path from St Dogmaels to Amroth. Visit Castell Henllys, the Iron Age Fort where everyone is encouraged to learn the ancient way of living, or visit the wonderful Shire Horse Farm to see how farming was before tractors. The Cardigan Bay dolphins can be seen off the bay on a regular basis and more active pursuits can be found at Cardigan Bay Active, including surfing, wildlife trips or coasteering. With scenic coastal, riverside and countryside walks and an array of other beaches and attractions all close by, this is a perfect holiday location all year round.

Very relaxing. When an issue came up regarding the kitchen tap, it was managed very well & swiftly by the representative of Coast & Country Holidays in arranging your maintenance/builder to visit & attend quickly. We would like to come back again.
