About this property

Gwelfor is a stylish, three-storey, six bedroom house in the popular seaside town of Newport. It is just a short walk to the centre of Newport, with its excellent choice of eateries, small shops, galleries and pubs.

A five minute walk leads you to Parrog beach, a favourite with children, boating enthusiasts and those with time to enjoy the glorious views. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path can also be joined here.

Across the Nevern estuary is Newport Sands, which can be reached, with care, by wading across at low tide, or by a longer walk via the iron bridge.

For fabulous views, take a walk up Carningli (Mount of Angels) behind Newport.

Newport is a beautiful coastal town in Pembrokeshire, south west Wales lying on the River Nevern with a selection of shops, pubs, tea rooms, plus an excellent golf course overlooking the sea as well as a lovely sheltered harbour. Newport lies on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path which is renowned worldwide for its unique landscape and wonderful opportunities to go dolphin and seal spotting. Wonderful coastal walks along the path or in the nearby Preseli Hills with the ever changing scenery are a walkers dream all year round. Learn about history when you visit the mills, craft centres and castles dotted around the county or spend a day at the wonderful Castell Henllys Iron Age Fort where you can learn hands on all about living during that time. See the majestic Shire Horses at the Shire Horse Farm or spend relaxing days on the huge choice of beautiful sandy beaches. All year round this is a perfect location for all the family.

The kitchen was really well equipped for our large group at Christmas. The sofa area in the kitchen part was a little bit of a squeeze for 10 of us but then it was good to have the separate sitting room which again, was a bit of a squeeze but we made it work. Fantastic walks in the area and Newport is really charming.

We didn't have red and blue bag to recycle cardboard and plastic so we took our recycling home. I think there should be bags available so others can recycle at this property otherwise there is a lot going to landfill unnecessarily. Great property in a beautiful place. My mum may be making a booking for March 2024

Due to the outside lights not being on,one of our party fell on a very uneven patch of tarmac and sprained / possibly fractured his ankle, leaving him in an ankle brace for the last two days of our holiday. A simple note in the information pack would have informed us about the outside light switch but the ridge of tarmac and dip next to it needs fixing. Otherwise a lovely house.
