This spacious property sits in a tranquil position overlooking the River Wye in the village of Llyswen, Powys. Immaculately presented throughout, Trevonnen invites families and friends looking to explore the delights of this Welsh location, including the scenic Brecon Beacons National Park. Step into the kitchen, enhanced with a range of integrated appliances, here you can dust off those cooking books and relish in some home cooking whilst the rest of the group set the dining table. Move into the lounge, home to a sumptuous corner sofa alongside a woodburning stove and Smart TV, ideal for movie nights or TV catchups.
When the weather is in your favour, make the most of the large patio space, ideal for some alfresco dining or simply an evening beverage as you listen to the river flow by, but please bar in mind this is an unfenced area and children must be supervised. Prepare yourself for a deep sleep with a relaxing soak in the bathroom before choosing between three wonderfully appointed bedrooms to catch your rest; the master is situated on the ground-floor and offers a double bed with en-suite shower room, along with patio doors providing access to the outside, whilst upstairs there is a double and twin, both neatly presented.
If you need to pick up the essentials, the quaint village of Llyswen offers a convenience store along with two welcoming pubs, ideal should you fancy a day away from the kitchen. Nestled on the cusp of the Black Mountains, Trevonnen enjoys access to exciting activities and historic adventures. Those adrenaline junkies can ride the winds over the black mountains, pony trek through the countryside, visit the romantic ruins of a medieval castle, take a dive and explore the interesting underground caves, explore the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons) on foot or canoe across Llangors Lake. With adventure to be had in all corners of this Welsh region, look forward to an action-packed holiday at Trevonnen.
On the west bank of the River Wye, in Powys, is the little, charming village of Llyswen. There are a few stores nearby, as well as a charming inn that serves delicious meals and a wide selection of real ales. Explore the charming mediaeval village of Abergavenny, travel a little farther to Hay-on-Wye with its many bookshops, go to the artisan and collectors fairs, and attend the four-day Royal Welsh Agricultural Show in Builth Wells. The mediaeval cathedral town of Brecon is also close by and features stunning Georgian and Jacobean architecture, numerous museums, a theatre and a movie theatre, as well as independent shops, restaurants, and inns that serve real ales and regional cuisine. At any time of year, the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons National Park's) rolling hills, valleys, and the untamed grandeur of waterfalls and caves provide avid walkers and cyclists with breathtaking views. Traditional market villages, castles, historic sites, and miles of picturesque canals can all be found in the park. Pony riding, canal boating, or the nearby Brecon Steam Railway are essential for those who lack energy. An excellent sightseeing base for a year-round family vacation. The National Show Caves of Wales, Craig-y-Nos County Park, the upper Swansea valley, and Dan-yr-Ogof are all to the south. The market towns of Llandovery and Llandeilo lie to the west, and Welshpool, Powys Castle, and lake Vyrnwy are to the north.

No welcome pack on arrival. Bedding and towels were in a dirty pile in the laundry room when we arrived, despite contacting Sykes we had to wash them ourselves. Couldn't contact the owner and Sykes kept asking if we needed help but couldn't rectify the issue. No TV in the bedroom as advertised. Toilet seat broken in en suite, also mentioned in a review in June. We had a lovely holiday. The property is fantastic and in a lovely area. The owners and Sykes need to attend to the finer details.

It was modern and well maintained which made for a very comfortable stay. Also extremely warm and very well equipped for our needs. We would use this property again without hesitation.
