About this property

7evern @ Porth Farm is a lovely, semi-detached barn conversion set within the owner's grounds of a working sheep farm, near the village of Caersws. This charming abode, with countryside views reaching down towards the meandering River Severn, offers a superb base for families, friends and couples alike. You will look forward to returning to this contemporary-style accommodation at the end of each adventure in the surrounding area. Step straight into the open-plan living room through large sliding doors, to find an eye-catching layout, with modern furnishings and uplifting décor to make you feel right at home. The exposed oak beams and matching colour schemes allow you to make the most of this sociable space. Unwind into the evening in the lounge area and tune into the TV, when the sun is out you can slide open the doors to let the pleasant outdoors in. Cook up a delicious meal in the kitchen and gather around the modern dining table to discuss plans for the day ahead. The ground floor bedroom boasts a double bed, fitted wardrobe and chest of drawers, as well as bedside tables and lamps for unwinding with a book at the end of the evening. You can wake to a refreshing shower under the rainfall shower head in the en-suite each morning, before making yourself that first coffee of the day. Climb the stairs to the sunny, split-level landing with high ceiling and exposed beams adding further to the character of the cottage, which flows into the bedrooms and bathrooms for a seamless finish throughout. First is the master bedroom with a king-size bed and coordinating furniture, as well as a travel cot for those travelling with infants. The twin room has built-in wardrobes, whilst the family bathroom is well-appointed for the whole family. Though the village of Caersws has some handy amenities, you are also an easy drive away from Newtown with a host of shops, bars and restaurants to entertain you for the evening. Further afield is the Shropshire Hills AONB, Snowdonia National Park and the beautiful sweep of Cardigan Bay, with plenty of opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts. Enjoy a venturesome holiday in Wales.

Caersws is a convenient base for exploring Mid Wales and offers a railway station, church and shop, plus pubs, a butchers and a Post Office. Just six miles away is the market town of Newtown, where you will find a number of shops, pubs, museums and an art gallery. We were visiting over the Christmas/New Year period and the cottage was all decorated and so warm and cosy. A welcome pack including some chocolates was waiting for us. All such thoughtful touches to welcome us when we arrived. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and the living area has everything you need. It’s also a very practical place if, as we did, you have your dog with you. It’s worth noting that on arrival there wasn’t a trace of previous doggy visitors, the cottage was spotless. The outside spaces are all safe and enclosed and there are some lovely walks on the doorstep as well as further afield. The resident dogs were very tolerant of our playful puppy! The host family were very friendly but gave us the space we needed to enjoy our holiday. I would definitely recommend the cottage to anyone looking for a base to explore beautiful Mid Wales and beyond. We will be back!

Beautiful views, beautiful converted barn which is furnished in a simple yet clean and with a thought of different needs of guests. Disabled friendly, animal friendly, secure area for children and animals alike. If you are wanting a get away from it all then this is the place to stay. Thank you once again for such a beautiful place to stay. Must mention farm Dog and Cat daily visits which was the highlight of my daughters day.

We thought we had entered a private farm so we turned around and went to a different property then got completely lost.
