About this property

This endearing Swedish-style cabin is set within the majestic Radnorshire Hills and can be found resting close to the wonderful English/Welsh border. Pines Pitch is a wonderful retreat for bringing family and friends together to an area steeped in natural beauty and a vast array of outdoor opportunities. The interior of the cottage enjoys an idyllic charm and houses everything you could possibly need for a week-long stay, including a woodburning stove and a hot tub for extra indulgence. Be welcomed into a spacious kitchen/diner, where the designated chef of the group will be delighted to find a traditional AGA taking centre stage before all the other appliances required to rustle up an evening meal, including an additional oven and hob, a large fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. Settle down around the dining table to tuck into your home-cooked meal and to plan the days ahead with your loved ones, while the electric fire gently fills the room with warmth. After diner, sink into the sofa to catch up on your favourite TV programmes with the roaring woodburning fire to keep you warm. As the evening draws to a close, drift off to sleep within one of the well-presented bedrooms, comprising a ground-floor double bedroom, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. On the first floor you will also find a small space with a cot for any younger guests or a space for delving into a book. To the outside of the property, you and your loved ones can gather for a spot of alfresco dining before dipping into the bubbling hot tub to take in the surrounding views further. Here, the younger guests will be delighted by the outdoor play area and your canine companions can roam around the spacious lawn to stretch their legs before heading out for the day. To keep you busy whilst staying here, venture out to the nearby town of Knighton, where you can spend an afternoon exploring the streets lined with eateries and shops, or visit the Knighton Golf Club. For those feeling active, walks can be enjoyed upon the Glyndwr's Way and Offa's Dyke and cyclists will be delighted to find Radnor Ring Cycling Route close by. Pines Pitch is a splendid retreat for a group of family and friends to explore this part of the English/Welsh border.

Knighton is a market town resting with the countryside on the banks of the River Teme. This English/Welsh border town houses opportunities for walking, riding and cycling with Offa's Dyke passing through, as well as Owain Glyndwr's Way. Finding it in the dark was near impossible. We had to get out of our cars after an hour of searching up the same road and use our phone torches. It is not visible in the dark at all. It is very unmissable in the day light and the lady I rang seemed confused as to why I couldn’t find it. I’m wondering if she’s ever been at night when there’s no lights on. That is the only downside. Now we know where it is, we have actually booked to go again. Maybe a blue light would be helpful so then the instructions can say ‘it will have a blue light on’ for example. May help. The lodge itself is great, a decent size for the whole family to enjoy. Couch is a little uncomfortable mind, but the beds were ok.

Think it would be best to tell people more about the location. We also found it really cold the first 24 hours. As the booking was winter time I would of hoped that the heating would of been on to make the cabin cosy and warm on arrival, however it wasn’t and it took over 24 hours for it to warm through. Also it’s advertised with a log burner but is no good if there are no logs to use! Had to phone and ask and again didn’t come until the next morning! Had to purchase more kindling too.

Taxi driver charged us £100 return to go to Knighton and back and we didn’t have much other choice as everywhere else no availability. Found this crazy as it’s at 25 min round trip! Cabin was amazing and comfortable. Thanks
