New Peny is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and excellent facilities including a hot tub. The property offers a homely feel and thoughtful touches like a welcome basket, contributing to a delightful stay. Its location is appreciated for stunning walks and proximity to attractions, with a secure garden for pets. The occasional mention of minor issues does not detract from the overall positive experience.
The majority of guests found the property to be clean and well-maintained, with only a few isolated comments regarding areas that could have been cleaner. The positive remarks far outweigh the negatives, indicating high standards of cleanliness.
The location is frequently praised for its excellent access to local attractions and beautiful walks, with a convenient pub across the road. Some guests noted the proximity to a main road, but this did not significantly impact the overall positive perception of the location.
Guests consistently mention the comfort of the beds and the cosy atmosphere of the property, with ample space and a homely feel. The presence of a hot tub adds to the comfort level, making it a relaxing retreat.
Facilities are generally regarded as excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen, spacious garden, and the bonus of a hot tub. Some guests mentioned issues with heating and lighting outside, but these are minor compared to the overall satisfaction with the property's amenities.
The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident through mentions of welcome gifts such as fresh eggs, Welsh cakes, and other treats. While these gifts greatly enhance the experience, it is important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed with every stay.
Llandrindod Wells 5 miles. This well-furnished, detached bungalow lies in the village of Penybont, just five miles from the well-known Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells. This spacious cottage enjoys large lawned grounds and benefits from a central location in the village, providing an excellent base for a family retreat. From the cosy woodburner and engineered wood flooring, this cottage oozes warmth and charm, all of which won’t disappoint. The kitchen and diner is finished to an exceptional standard, with contemporary appliances and an island unit, along with dining seating for all. The master bedroom features a sumptuous king-size bed and modern en-suite shower room, so you can prepare for your day with ease. There is also a double and single bedroom, which are served by the ample family bathroom complete with bath and shower over. For extra convenience, there is a utility room with washer and dryer, useful if you explore across a muddier route. Outside through the patio doors, step into the patio area which houses a wonderful hot tub. Indulge and relax with a glass of something cold, or switch on the jets for that Jacuzzi experience, the perfect way to round off a tiring day exploring. The patio area also features a large picnic bench which lends itself to alfresco dining in the sun. There are walks from the door as the property is on the edge of the Penybont Common. Nestled in the spectacular Welsh countryside, the village of Penybont is famed for its popular garden centre Midway Plants and Nurseries. Just opposite the cottage is The Severn Arms, an 18th century coaching inn, while further ahead in the village is the Thomas Shop, museum and gallery, all well worth a visit. New Peny is ideally placed for exploring the area, the stunning Cambrian Mountains and the Elan Valley with its Victorain dams and wildlife rich countryside. An attractive cottage to be enjoyed all year round.
