For days out, the town of Rhayader is just a scenic car journey away and boasts the magnificent Rhayader Castle, the ruins of a motte-and-bailey castle, and the Clock Tower a war memorial landmark within the centre of the town. For a day of walking and cycling, set off from the doorstep of the property and explore the local area, or venture off to the picturesque Pwll Penarth Nature Reserve and wander the beautiful woodland and grasslands - a favourite among birdwatchers. Within easy reach is the stunning Elan Valley, a chain of man-made lakes, perfect for a day out of peaceful walks along the waterside. You may also be able to find Craig Goch Dam, arguably the most important of Elan Valley's six dams. Whatever you like to get up to on holiday, Pant Y Rhedyn is the perfect base all year round.
