Trout Cottage is praised for its peaceful location, welcoming hosts, and proximity to nature and wildlife. Guests enjoy the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable furnishings, and the opportunity for fly fishing on the River Wye. While most reviews are positive, a few mention maintenance issues.
The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and well-maintained, with only a single review mentioning issues with cleanliness, such as a dirty drying rack and greasy cooker controls.
The location is consistently praised for its tranquility, proximity to the river, and abundance of wildlife. It is described as an excellent base for exploring Mid Wales and enjoying nature.
Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, with comfortable beds and furniture. However, one review mentioned sagging furniture, which suggests some room for improvement.
Facilities are generally appreciated, especially the well-equipped kitchen. However, there are reports of maintenance issues such as a failing shower and lack of hot water, which impacts the score.
While the hosts are described as welcoming and a welcome pack is mentioned, there is insufficient information on consistent thoughtful gestures such as gifts to accurately score this category.

The cottage is comprehensively equipped and lovely and warm; doubtless we'll be staying again at some not too distant future point. Excellent.
