Explore the beautiful Elan Valley, part of the Cambrian Mountains; it is an unspoilt location boasting dams and reservoirs, which cultivates rich wildlife with the Elan Estate home to foxes, deer, and otters among many, as well as a wealth of nocturnal wildlife with the estate being awarded an International Dark Sky Park Award.
Head to the Red Kite Feeding Centre in Rhayader for an experience like no other to see hundreds of Red Kites flock to feed here, a breath-taking spectacle and with a coffee shop, picnic site and a farm trail you can make a lovely day of it! Ty Mynydd is within reach of the famous Offa's Dyke Path, which follows the line down the border between Wales and England and is popular with walkers, or head south-west to Abergwesyn to the Devils Staircase forming part of the Abergwesyn Pass in a mix of mountains, steep climbs and wilderness. Aberystwyth and the Shropshire Hills AONB are around an hour's drive away and present lots more to enjoy.
