Step through the front door into the large entrance hall and, alongside an original dark oak staircase, there’s plenty of room to remove outdoor clothing and shoes. The heart of every country home, the kitchen here combines traditional charm with every modern must-have and is designed with socialising in mind, its exposed brickwork and original beams setting the scene for companionable cooking and chatter. Off the kitchen, a handy utility room has laundry equipment, and a shower room adds further convenience. When it’s time to eat, the dining room has a flagstone floor, large wood burner and two tables to seat everyone, plus sofas and chairs where you can unwind after your meal. There’s more space to stretch out in the separate sitting room, which has a TV and DVD. When it’s time to sleep, the first floor has four comfortable bedrooms, all tastefully decorated in soothing shades.
