Offa’s Dyke National Trail runs close by to the town, providing a good excuse to get on your boots and head off for a walk, there are vineyards and homemade ice cream suppliers nearby. Guests are also very close to the NT property Powys Castle, with 3 others within 45 minutes, Chirk Castle, Erddig and Attingham Park. The Welshpool to Llanfair steam railway, Montgomery Canal, and Lake Vyrnwy are all local and well worth a visit. Quad biking, paintballing and horse riding are all available locally, and watersports can be found at Bala Lake and in Llangollen, a 40-minute drive. Historic Shrewsbury is 30-minute drive, and the west Wales coastline is approximately a 1 hour drive. Shops, pubs and restaurants 1¼ miles.

This was the second time we've stayed at Celyn and we are re-visiting next year. The star feature is the private swimming pool, which along with the hot tub, games room and cinema room kept the family well entertained for the week. The pool is large enough to swim lengths. It has a deep end so non-swimmers need managing. It's good for Dogs, with a large adjacent garden, however the boundaries are not dog escape-proof.The cottage is set in a pretty rural area. Local amenities in Montgomery and Church Stoke are within 5-10 mins drive, with the larger towns of Newtown and Welshpool about 20 mins drive. The Offa's Dyke national footpath is readily accessible, offering a pleasant 2 mile walk into Montgomery.

This place is perfect for a family get away- excellent value for money. The Kitchen is well stocked with plenty of plates and more importantly a glass for every drink! The pool and hot tub were fabulous and it felt really safe and quietThe owner was responsive and a pleasure to deal with. Thank you for having us!
