Guests say

La Cala is a spacious and well-situated cottage in South Wales, ideal for exploring the Brecon Beacons and local attractions. Guests appreciate the property's ample space, well-equipped kitchen, and the warmth and cosiness it offers. The large open-plan area and additional quiet sitting room are particularly enjoyed for socialising.

Reviews indicate that while La Cala is generally clean, there are concerns about dust and debris in certain areas, and some guests noted that the cleaning could be more thorough. The property appears to be well-maintained overall, but attention to detail in cleaning is suggested for improvement.

The cottage is highly praised for its brilliant location, with easy access to walks in the Brecon Beacons and proximity to Cardiff and Swansea. The nearby distillery tours and local pubs add to the appeal, making it an excellent base for exploring South Wales.

Comfort receives mixed reviews; while the property is spacious and cosy, several guests mention that some beds are uncomfortable and the lack of proper showers is inconvenient. Improvements in bedding and the addition of showers could enhance the overall comfort significantly.

Facilities are generally good, with a well-stocked kitchen and plenty of room for guests. However, feedback suggests that updates are needed in areas such as kitchen appliances, lighting, and outdoor decking. Maintenance issues like sticking doors and the need for better shower facilities are noted.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the property owners towards the guests. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Property owner kept us informed about key codes, bin bags and bin collections and provided clear direction about where to leave bedding and towels etc on our departure.

Facilities ideal after a days walking. Overall very comfortable.

It has been done up very tastefuly and has plenty of room. The large kitchen, seating and dining area was great for our extended family holiday. On the downside, the majority of the mattresses were very old and very uncomfortable. We also had trouble with the ovens, only one of which we could get to work. Also, the fridge was too small for a large group. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.
