Dylasau is a picturesque detached cottage, set down a quiet country lane, at the top of a gently terraced garden. About a mile away are many fine waterfalls, including the Conwy Falls and the Machno Falls (near the mountain-ringed village of Penmachno). Nearby are the 14 peaks of Snowdon, but closer to hand there is a delightful farm trail on the owner’s farm close by. Reputedly the best rock climbing in the world is available near Llanberis, and canoeing and mountaineering courses are available at the National Outdoor Centre in Capel Curig, The nearby village of Betws-y-Coed, the gateway to Snowdonia, has much to offer, including the fabulous, family-friendly treetop adventure park at Zip World Fforest. A short drive takes you to a larger Zip World in Bethesda which offers adrenaline junkies the options of trying Europe’s longest zip lines, and the world’s fastest zip line. For a more tranquil experience, the famous Ffestiniog Railway takes you on a spectacular journey to the coastal town of Porthmadog. Forest trails, Horse riding and golfing opportunities are a short drive away. Shops and eating and drinking establishments are to be found at Betws-y-Coed, 4 miles away.

We had a really lovely time during our holiday in Wales. The cottage is in a beautiful, peaceful spot. From the cottage you can reach the sea, the mountains or the woods in no time at all. The horse paddock behind the house is a wonderful addition. The area around the cottage is notable for its incredibly beautiful, thick old trees. A joy to see!We had good weather — around 25-30 degrees for two weeks — so we were very lucky there.One small suggestion would perhaps be a side table next to the sofas, and a slightly more modern garden furniture set. Other than that, nothing to fault!

Lovely stay, very peaceful and tranquil. Watch for the midges though! The horses in the field made our day, and gearing the odd plane fly over. Well equipped, but some instructions for cooker etc would be helpful. Lovely gardens for our dogs to run around in. Thanks for a great stay.

Beautiful cottage just outside of Betws-y-coed that makes getting around to Snowdon or local amenities like Zip world, Go below, LLandudno, lots or waterfalls, etc, nice and easy. It's a great location just off the A5. but completely secluded and peaceful. The views in and around the area are of course spectacular.The cottage itself was clean, comfortable, cosy and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Hairdryer, soaps, spongers/cloths, utensils, dishwasher, etc. Even condiments like olive oil, salt, pepper and vinegar. As mentioned in the description, it is on a bit of a hill and not really suitable if you have mobility issues, there are a fair few steps that can get slippery if wet as they are slate but there is a sturdy hand rail to assist. The pool table, dart board and football table were a great additions and kept us entertained for hours in the evenings. They are a little tired, but fully functionable and were great fun. Beds were firm and comfy.There is a field with horses in the back which was a nice surprise, especially as there were some young foals with them. The garden is well kept with lots of flowering shrubbery. If I had to try to find any criticism it would be that the sofa wasn't the comfiest, the garden furniture could do with a refresh and a cover from the elements to help prolong it, and that the games were a bit tired as per above. The bathroom taps are also quite stiff and are close to the wall so difficult to turn, but not to the point they are a major issue. Not a deal breaker in any shape or form. Thoroughly enjoyable stay and will 100% be back.
