A superb, detached stone-built cottage situated in a truly idyllic woodland position on the edge of the Gwydir Forest and only 300 yards from Gwydir Castle, within the Snowdonia National Park. The property enjoys over three hundred years of history and retains many original features including two foot thick stone walls, inglenook fireplaces and beamed ceilings. More recently it has been sympathetically modernised to an exceptionally high standard and offers every modern comfort. Visitors will also enjoy the sunny garden and the sound of nearby waterfalls. Betws-y-Coed, with its many amenities, is three miles away.
Betwys-Y-Coed is the most popular holiday destination in North Wales. When you take a look at what it has to offer, it's easy to see why. The town is, quite literally, the Gateway to Snowdonia, a breathtaking National Park comprising 832 square miles of the most beautiful and unspoilt countryside in North Wales. The whole region is a haven for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts and there are also a variety of outdoor activities including cycling, mountain walks and horse riding. The River Conwy also plays host to many fishermen and boaters who enjoy the tranquillity and beautiful scenery. Bets-Y-Coed is well served by shops and restaurants, making it the perfect base from which to explore the area.

The cottage is beautiful inside and out, clean, comfortable with everything you need. The garden is perfect, surrounded by trees, nature and the sound of the waterfall. We will be back next year.

Kitchen facilities good plenty of ability to cook meals. Gerat position for days out loads to do within an hours drive. Or just walk 15 mins to town to spend the day riverside at the tea room.

A really old and quirky property that was spacious and well-equipped. The grounds were perfect and the beck and waterfall were a real novelty. The cottage is much more spacious than it looks on the photos and was very warm and welcoming. All the period features are present and it feels like staying in the past. Scones with fresh cream and jam, an Easter egg and milk were all provided and much appreciated on arrival! Location-wise, it was very handy to access the whole of northern Snowdonia and right on the Gywdir Marw MTB trail too. Also worth mentioning is that dogs are not allowed, which is fantastic and something other property owners should insist on too - no hair, smell, slobber or poo. We have stayed in a LOT of holiday homes over the years and this one was definitely the best weâve come across. Thank you for an excellent week of adventures and comfort.
