A gate at the garden’s rear leads directly to the popular, scenic Rhyd Ddu Path a few steps away, or alternatively towards the Snowdon Ranger’s Path, both offering exhilarating routes up Yr Wyddfa (Mount Snowdon). There are numerous other mountain walks straight from the cottage, including Mynedd Mawr and the Nantlle Ridge, the Snowdonia slate trail, and walks on lower ground through the Beddgelert Forest, making it an ideal haven for hiking enthusiasts.

The Welsh Highland Railway running from Porthmadog to Caernarfon stops at the Rhyd Ddu station, only 150 metres away from the cottage, where you can experience a delightful journey on one of the WHR steam trains. Nearby, Beddgelert is a picturesque village, renowned for its stone cottages, charming riverside setting, and lush surroundings. The multi-use recreational path from Rhyd Ddu to Beddgelert, Lon Gwyrfrai, leads though a variety of landscapes offering fantastic views of the surrounding area. Beautiful location with a direct view of Snowdon from the back garden. Well equipped cottage. Plenty of local walks. One of the more strenuous walks to Snowdon summit directly behind the cottage, Rhyd Ddu path.
