It was immaculately clean on our arrival, and really comfortable and quiet. The beds were super-comfortable and the shutters made the rooms really dark, so we all slept really well. The gardens are beautifully maintained and enclosed, so we knew the dog was safe. The gardener came on Friday mornings quite early. There was plenty of hot water and a waterfall shower (bring a shower cap!) over a lovely, deep bath. The lack of washing machine and tumble dryer caused no issues - we stayed for 2 weeks and used the launderette in Barmouth (1 hour to wash and dry clothes for whole family, just take a ten pound note!). The only thing I would ask for is a bin in the bathroom and toilet and more cutlery/crockery, plus some more/bigger cooking pans for those feeding 3 hungry teenagers! The cottage is in a stunning part of Wales, with easy access to beautiful walks and a well-stocked shop very nearby (the meat here was amazing). We loved walking through the woods to the beach (turn left out of the house and left through the woods, then right when you get to the road) to watch the sun set. The ancient burial mound is worth a visit too, as is Zip World, only a 40 minute drive away, and Barmouth and Harlech are only 10 minutes away (Harlech has an amazing ice-cream shop!). Our kids also enjoyed a couple of hours at the amusement arcade at the nearby caravan park. We will definitely return and can thoroughly recommend the cottage and the surrounding area.

Walking distance to everything we needed, beach, shop, play area, football pitch!! We took my mother (late 70s) and 6 yr old grandson. So house was just what we needed. Will be recommending to all!!!

It was quite dusty in some areas, especially the shelving for the leaflets, the white fireplace and tele area and old cobwebs around in the property. The fridge could have been cleaner and was blinking on and off. The bread bin had crumbs etc inside. One towel I used for my hair was full of bugs or something and felt quite hairy itself-but the others were fine. It would have been nice to have the welcome pack mentioned in the pink folder but we didn’t. It would have been nice to be able to open the bathroom window and have a blind up for privacy. We had problems not being able to open certain windows or for some having no means to prop them open. It would have been nice to have some washing up liquid-we left the one we bought. There is space for a washing machine and dryer and, with a countertop, a table top freezer could be there too. Had the feeling it was a financial choice not to do so rather than a lack of space. Noticed it is for sale, perhaps that is why, perhaps attention to detail is no longer a priority.
