About this property
This is a charming barn conversion located in a semi-rural situation on the outskirts of the pretty village of Llan Ffestiniog, right in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales. The cosy and relaxing environment along with the excellent location make this the perfect cottage for a family or friends looking for a lovely get away from it all! This charming barn conversion is located on the owners 65 acre highland sheep working farm and the original part of the barn dates back some 400 years! Enter into the spacious open plan living area, enhanced by the high ceiling, with exposed beams and purlins and a stunning stone fireplace with a woodburning stove with comfortable seating and a TV, ideal for putting your feet up and watching a favourite film. The kitchen area comes with all of the necessary appliances with stylish fixtures and fittings adding a homely feeling. Yr Hen Dy comes with three bedrooms, providing delightful bed linen and fluffy towels to make your stay even more comforting. The interior of the cottage is complete with a pleasant family bathroom. Make sure you spend some time sitting out on your patio, get a drink of your choice and simply take in the counrtyside views down the valley and of the Snowdonia Mountain Range. The village of Llan Ffestiniog is a lovely village, perfect for a peaceful holiday. It boasts a village shop, a community pub and breathtaking panoramic views. There are walks in abundance and the nearby Cynfall Falls is a must. The neighbouring town of Blaenau Ffestiniog is well-known for its slate industry, with a cavern that you can take tours of. It also offers shops and pubs as well as other activities to enjoy, such as ZipWorld Titan and Bounce Below, a spectacular subterranean trampoline! Yr Hen Dy is a charming cottage in a wonderful location and provides a perfect base for exploring this fantastic part of North Wales anytime of the year.
Llan Ffestiniog is close to the Manod and Moelwyn Mountains, near the centre of Snowdonia National Park. Blaenau Ffestiniog offers shops and pubs, whilst the surrounding area boasts things to see and do. Take a tour around Llechwedd Slate Cavern, enjoy a ride on the Ffestiniog Railway or take time to admire the mountainous views available. With walking, mountain biking and cycling, beaches, fishing, a wealth of delightful towns and villages scattered throughout the area, Zip World, Bounce Below and the beautiful Vale of Ffestiniog and Cynfal Waterfalls to the west, this lovely location has something for everyone, at any time of year!
