Gorwel is a well-liked cottage in North Wales with outstanding mountain views and a prime location for exploring Snowdonia. It offers a cosy, quiet stay with a well-equipped kitchen and a secure garden for pets. The property provides a comfortable base for day trips and walking adventures, despite some feedback on furniture comfort and the absence of Wi-Fi.
Cleanliness has received mixed reviews. While some guests found the property mostly clean with spotless floors and beds, others noted issues with dust, hair, and attention to detail in cleaning. The garden is well-maintained, but indoor cleanliness could be improved.
The location is highly praised for its stunning views of the mountains and waterfalls, and its proximity to local attractions and walks. It serves as an excellent base for exploring Snowdonia and the surrounding areas.
Comfort has been a point of contention among guests. The mattresses are described as amazing, but the low furniture has been uncomfortable for some, particularly those with mobility issues. The absence of Wi-Fi has also been noted as a drawback for comfort.
Facilities are generally well-received, with the property being well-equipped for guests' needs. However, there are comments about the lack of Wi-Fi and some maintenance issues like key safe problems and secure fencing for pets. The absence of Wi-Fi is a notable omission for some guests.
There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as there are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches provided by the host. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

It is a perfect location for staying local or as a cantral base to explore wider Wales- we did both! Brilliant value for money and a responsive host. The house is well equipped as a home from home and even has a slow cooker (which was fantastic for setting up dinner after a lengthy day hiking) the garden looks beautiful and likewise well equipped. Parking was great, directions to the property and instructions for arrival/checkout very clear. As mentioned to host, it could be a little clearer in the listing that there is no wifi. Not an issue if you are adventuring every day as we were.

Also the heat from the shower and radiators were very low and was unable to have a decent showere and poor heating.we were instructed by the owners letter as to not interfere with the boiler. We also had a bad experience with the bedding as this had been put onto the beds not completely dry which made the beds stink, the only way to describe this it smelt like someone had âpissed on a hot radiatorâ,we washed the pillow cases and duvet covers but it smelt the same.although there was a washer drier, the drier didânt heat to dry the bedding and a clothesline wasânt readily available,so at our own expense took these to a local laundry, also poor hygiene in the kitchen area, But despite all of this we got on and had a reasonable stay
