About this property

17 Dublin Street is a Grade II listed worker's cottage in the village of Tremadog which boasts historical links to the wool and mining industry. The cottage has been modernised & upgraded to provide a homely yet spacious holiday retreat close to the magnificent Snowdonia National Park. A perfect property for a small family or two couples. Enter through the front door and kick off your boots in the hallway, before stepping into the wooden floored rustic sitting room. Sink into the leather sofas at the end of a fun packed day to watch your favourite programmes in front of the wood burning stove, a welcome addition on chilly evenings.

Moving towards the back of the property, throw your back packs into the handy storage space under the stairs, before entering the refreshing kitchen, where olive green walls contrast against bright white tiles and cream units. Although the cottage does not have a garden, you do have the benefit of a back porch, where you can store your bikes for some fantastic days out riding along the coast, or up and down the Welsh peaks. Up the carpeted stairs you will find a spacious king-size bedroom and a twin room, both featuring dormer windows and slanting ceilings showing the cottage's age and character.

Serving these rooms is the lovely bathroom which has a bath with shower over to cater for everyone's preferences. Just outside the door, step into the village of Tremadog and dine at one of the two pubs, or pick up the essentials from the nearby local shop to rustle up something of your own. The village even has it's own fish and chip shop! Just a mile down the road is the town of Porthmadog, rich in maritime history and once a very busy shipping port for the international slate trade. Visit the town's Maritime Museum, a great way to spend an afternoon, or take a ride on one of the three steam railway lines, the Ffestiniog Railway & Welsh Highland Railways, running to Blaenau Ffestiniog or Caernarfon or the shorter Welsh Highland Heritage Railway which has an interactive museum, all brilliant for any train enthusiasts.

The Italianate style village of Portmeirion, built by Clough Williams-Ellis, is just over four miles away, and is home to some amazing architecture and sub-tropical gardens. 17 Dublin Street is a fantastic base to really enjoy this delightful area of Wales.

Tremadog is village just outside of Porthmadog, in north-west Wales, not far from the coast. Despite being a small area it contains several amenities and shops, including two pubs, a chip shop and a spar. It's an ideal location for those who want to enjoy the best of both worlds, and explore the Snowdonia National Park next door, as well as Wales' west coast.
