Hoot House is consistently praised for its fantastic location, cleanliness, and comfort, offering a 'home from home' experience. Guests appreciate the well-equipped space, beautiful surroundings, and the thoughtful welcome pack provided by the host. The property is ideal for local walks and is close to a great pub, with many finding it perfect for a peaceful retreat.
Guests have described the property as clean and tidy, indicating high standards of cleanliness. One mention of an unclean toilet brush suggests a minor oversight rather than a common issue.
The location is frequently highlighted as lovely, fantastic, and ideal for local walks, with amazing views and a quiet village setting. It is well-regarded for its peacefulness and scenery.
Reviewers find Hoot House to be very comfortable, with a great size and a 'home from home' feel. The presence of a downstairs bedroom is specifically appreciated for its convenience.
The property is described as well-equipped and well-maintained, with everything needed for a stay. However, one review mentions a faulty fridge, indicating a need for maintenance, which slightly lowers the score.
While guests have mentioned a welcome pack, which reflects thoughtfulness, there is not enough information to assess the consistency of such gestures. Therefore, it is politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed.

Hoot House is a comfortable and cosy property situated in wonderful surroundings in the Snowdonia National Park. Located a short drive from Tywyn, Aberdyfi and Fairbourne, this property is the perfect place to stay when looking to explore all the area has to offer. Cook yourselves a hearty meal in the well equipped kitchen and after sitting down to enjoy this with your family why not challenge each other to a game of chess or even table football. There is a great local pub less than half a mile (5-minutes walk) from the property.
Wander down to the Talyllyn Railway Station situated in Abergynolwyn and take the heritage steam trains in to Tywyn. From here you could take a walk on the beach, and on a nice day, tides and energy permitting, can even walk the 4 or so miles from Tywyn Beach to Aberdyfi Beach. Afterwards, treat yourself to a spot of lunch and then get the train back to Tywyn. Alternatively, Hoot House offers a great location for a number of other walks. There is the Quarryman’s Trail which visits the old mine of Bryn Eglwys slate quarry and boasts expansive views. Also you can walk to Dolgoch Falls right from the doorstep, just over 2½ miles away. If you fancy a real challenge, why not head over to Cadair Idris.
After all of this exploring come back to Hoot House and relax for the evening. Put your feet up and watching a film on the impressive TV, or sit in the conservatory taking in the surroundings, with the underfloor heating to keep you warm. Beach 8 miles. Shop 7½ miles, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Hoot house is in a lovely location. The only down side. It needs a new fridge. The thermostat has gone on it. Food kept freezing and had to be thrown away. There were no air fresheners in the toilets and the on suit toilet brush had poo on it.

Hoot House is in a fantastic location, amazing views and lovely to be able to sit in the conservatory watching the birds (and occasional jet!) . The house is a great size and well equipped with everything you need. The host left a welcome pack too which was much appreciated! Everything was clean and tidy, just like a home from home! The house is ideally situated for local walks and has a great local pub. Would definitely recommend!
