A beautiful house, very well equipped with everything we needed for our holiday. Ampleforth is a lovely village with two excellent pubs, a great cafe and a well-stocked village shop - what more could you need? A great base for some wonderful walks both on the doorstep and further afield, with a lovely hot shower when you get back! The non-walking members of our party very much enjoyed the facilities at leisure centre at Ampleforth College, which are open to the public. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful property great location extremely well equipped I will definitely be visiting again . ideal for our 3 generational holiday very much home from home even toys available for the dog. Excellent communication with the house keeper. The only thing to be aware of is there is no on site car parking and quite a steep path to walk up for unloading luggage and was a bit of a challenge for my 86 year old mother in law.

Prospect House is a fab home to stay in. Quality throughout and lovely design. Very well thought through from a visitor perspective too. Easy check in and communications with Rural Retreats. We had a great time. Loved the area too. So much to see and do. No shortage of good restaurants and shops in the area either. Thoroughly recommended.

Great, well appointed cottage, good size and plenty of space. Off street parking for 1 car very useful .!”nice and cost and came with an extensive welcome pack. Coffee shop opposite very convenient as is the small grocery shop a few hundred feet away. Would be ver comfortable recommending a stay here and would rerun too.

property is very nice but we found it not well cleaned from the previous holiday makers. it was a little dirty and grubby.Parking is a nightmare we had 3 cars with us and there is very little road parking spaces. you park on the road- but if you park in a "locals spot" expect some abuse! Very nice coffee tea shop opposite
