What our customers say about their holidays

There were 12 of us and a baby, we had a washing machine but only one airer.

It would have been better to have either two airers or a washing line. The carpet in the lounge was stained and worn, in one place it could have been a trip hazard where carpet had split. The back cushions on the sofas need re-stuffing as they kept slipping down on to us making it uncomfortable. Towel rail in downstairs toilet kept falling off, needed either changing or putting back on properly. Personally we could have done with more plates and bowls in the kitchen as we had to keep putting dishwasher on and only 4 tea towels were provided, again we had to keep washing them but it was difficult to get them dry to use again due to reasons stated earlier. Two kettles provided but needed replacing due to limescale build up. We did buy de-scaler and descaled one of them them but it still left residue in our cups. We had to boil the water on the hob for the babies bottles as we couldn’t use either of the kettles due to limescale residue. Twin beds upstairs had slats that were not fixed and kept falling off leaving the mattress falling through to the floor. This was rectified when we told the housekeeper when she came to change the bedding and the slats were fixed that day One en suite had a shower curtain which under current climate with COVID we feel it would have been better to have provided a cheap shower curtain for new clients every changeover (just our personal opinion) as not sure if and how how it was being sanitised between let’s? Overall the house was in an excellent location and none of the above ruined our holiday but we believe with a little TLC it would greatly enhance the holiday experience.

We chose Hunters Moon for a four-family get-together comprising seven adults and five children aged betweeen 3 and 5.

We were attracted by the nicely sized enclosed garden for the youngsters to play in, the sufficiency of bathroom facilities, and the selection of attractions the area offered. We found the house to have been well cleaned for our arrival, and the welcome basket of goodies was a nice touch (thank you!). Rooms were more than adequately proportioned, at no time during our stay did we feel we were 'on top of each other' and most rooms faced the stunning - there's no other word for it - views across the countryside down from the hill. As a bonus the house offered two sitting rooms, and we designated the smaller to be the childrens' play room, which helped contain the avalance of toys they normally precipitate when we get together. The kitchen gave us plenty of room for family meals and was well equiped, although it took us a while to find everything we needed! We found the location very quiet with little passing traffic, especially at night, and everyone slept well in their comfy beds. The owners introduced themselves and were very welcoming when we arrived, and were nicely chatty without being intrusive when we saw them during the week. A highlight of the stay was watching red kites soaring across the sky in the valley below, and hearing their distinctive 'kew' calls as they flew. Two tips for anyone coming to stay here: ladies, don't forget to pack your hairdryer. And, if you like cheese, make sure you pay a visit to the cheese shop in Tenbury - their selection is to die for! Overall a very pleasant stay and finally, the acid test: would we book to stay here again? Definitely!

The reviews posted for stays in the summer months do not give a realistic picture for a stay in October We arrived at the appointed check in time of 4.

00 pm to a very cold house as the timer was set to come on at 6.00 pm and we could not get the heating turned on until Michelle came much later to show us how to advance the timer Not a very warm welcome Surely the timer should be set for heating to come on a few hours before check in?? Also the description on the main page of the description is incorrect as it notes there are 5 bathrooms whereas there are only 3 shower rooms and one shared family bathroom Possibly the downstairs cloakroom is included as a bathroom which is not correct Also regarding bathrooms, one leaked whenever it was used making a large puddle on the ground floor which was a health hazard When we reported this to Michelle she said it was something she was aware of but there were no immediate plans to fix it until there was a void rental week in December! We had problems with the TV reception and this was not rectified until the third day of our stay A tip for the cleaners is that they should pull out the beds and clean underneath as there is a thick layer of dust under some of them A set of sharp kitchen knives would be useful as none of those provided could cut anything Plenty of wine glasses though and the welcome cake provided was appreciated The view was lovely and attention to the above could realise the full potential of this property

Absolutely beautiful house & surroundings; however we were disappointed given how rural it is at the lack of dog walking available from the property.

We would like to point out that the drive isn't suitable for some cars, if you came in a sports car you wouldn't make it down. The house was lovely & clean when we arrived & there was absolutely everything you could ask for to cook full meals at the property, along with a good size fridge & freezer. The dining kitchen was really lovely for the social aspect along with the table & chairs in the garden which the weather allowed us to use on the first night we where there which was lovely. A footstool or 2 in the living room would have added some extra comfort as for 4 adults relaxing on an evening wasn't massively relaxing. The beds are hard, which as someone who likes a hard mattress I thought would be fine, but the double we had to put the duvet under the sheet to pad it out a bit! We feel some people may struggle with this. Bathrooms were lovely & clean & showers were great even when all 4 of us were showering to go out. Having the downstairs toilet was a massive bonus. Location is what really let it down for us sadly. It felt like a 30 minute drive was required to get anywhere & the lack of a village pub to walk to again was a disappointment. For a retreat of doing nothing, this property is perfect & absolutely beautiful, but I wouldn't say it's best placed for exploring Worcestershire personally.

We've just come back from a 5 night stay to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday.

We had 10 of us staying and 15 for the day on Saturday. We had a wonderful time in this beautiful and very well appointed house. Michelle was very helpful when we called her with a few questions both before and after we arrived. There's so much space in the house with a lovely large living room and sweet little snug, plus probably the best and largest kitchen table I've ever seen. The garden is totally fenced off with a good strong five bar gate, so we were able to let our dog out to roam freely. There's also a field at the back of it that we could run him off the lead in, although we did check that this was ok first as some of the fields have livestock in them. There's plenty of parking space, we had seven cars parked up. There's lots of games to play, a very well appointed kitchen, a cosy wood burner and plenty of bathrooms, with a down stairs toilet too. We would definitely recommend staying here and if we ever need to organise another family celebration we would certainly consider Hunters moon cottage as a place to do so.
