  Staying at Wood Sage was a real treat!

  The accommodation is 5 star all the way. There are so many home comforts and little touches that really do set it apart and place it very highly in the 5 star category. Immaculately clean, incredibly comfortable beds, top quality towels and bed linen to name but a few. The deck area is a complete sun trap and is arguably one of the best postioned lodges on the site. The lodge is ideally situated between Bamburgh and Seahouses and is in very easy reach of the Coastal Path and all of the sites in the area. Very quiet at night and we had the best nights sleeps for years! A fantastic lodge that is more than home from home and will not disappoint. Thank you to the owner who we got to meet, nothing was too much trouble and the goodies on arrival were very welcomed (especially the wine!). No doubt we shall return to Wood Sage.

  Thank you for a lovely stay! The welcome hamper was a really nice gesture and the scones were so yummy. Rooms were really comfortable and we had everything that we could need. Such a great base for exploring the coast and what a great view! I’d recommend both Lord Crew & Castle Inn for afternoon tea – dog friendly too! Great walk to Seahouses along the beach and interesting to visit Bamburgh Castle. Holy Island well worth a visit but Lindisfarne currently being renovated and has nothing in it which was a bit disappointing. Alnwick Gardens were fabulous and i can imagine the grounds would be beautiful in the summer. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to visit the castle – but we will definitely be back with Coquet Cottages soon too experience it then! We will definitely be back.

  A lovely cottage in the heart of Bamburgh village. Booked online with Coquet Cottages but needed to speak to staff on a couple of occasions who were lovely and really helpful – great customer service. Cottage had absolutely everything we needed – nice welcome pack, spotlessly clean and amazing views of the castle from the upstairs rooms. The weather was fantastic so we spent most of the time in enclosed yard which the dog loved. There was a wood pigeon nesting the lilac tree with two chicks. It was the most perfect week.   We have had such a lovely time staying at The Hermitage – love, love, love the view from the bedroom and the lounge! The cottage is so well equipped, clean and comfortable. Thank you for the welcome basket – that was a lovely touch (yummy cheese scones!). We have had great walks along the beach, climbing over rocks and playing in the sand. We had a gorgeous meal at The Potted Lobster and a yummy Sunday lunch at the Victoria Hotel. We are a family of 6 and have all had a totally fantastic time. I’m sure we will be back! Thank you.

  A fabulous week away at The Chimney.

  The house was spacious, very well equipped and lovely and warm in a beautiful, peaceful and quiet setting just outside Bamburgh.We were extremely lucky with the weather, sunny but cold and the house is well positioned for visiting the glorious coastline and Holy Island. Off peak some of the attractions may not be open but the lack of crowds and ease of parking more than compensated for this and we had plenty to fill our days and lots of great places nearby to eat out whatever your requirements. Highly recommended we will be back.
