Big Cottages & Group Accommodation in Nefyn

Take your family and friends on a break to Nefyn, where there's much to do and see in a beautiful coastal setting. It’s got a lovely sandy beach and picturesque harbour that's perfect for picnics and relishing the sea air. Take the gang on a walk along the north coast path to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. There’s lots for sports fans, with a spectacular golf course, cycling, climbing, horse riding, and even underground golf and caving. Our big cottages in Nefyn offer a cosy and comfortable base for making the most of this Welsh area.

Many of our properties welcome pets, which means that you don’t have to leave your best friend at home and they can enjoy some lovely coastal walks too. Children are often catered for, with some cottages providing cots and highchairs to keep them safe and comfortable. Most cottages provide Wi-Fi, so teenagers and adults alike can stay in touch with the rest of the world and entertain themselves when you’re all having a bit of downtime.

It's worth taking a look at our cottages in Barmouth, Aberdovey, and Harlech too, these all offer great bases for enjoying Welsh hospitality. Charm the whole party with a trip to Dwyfor Ranch Rabbit Farm. Take a trip back in time to Criccieth Castle and some heritage everyone will enjoy.

What our customers say about their holidays

  • David - Verified booking

The cottage is comfortable, spacious and in a good position close to the beach and coastal walks.

However, there were a number of weaknesses: (1) Cleanliness. Your documentation stated that the time between 10 and 5 on changeover day is needed for "deep cleaning" in present circumstances. However, previous tenants had evidently brought a dog and not cleaned up after it. We needed to give the utility room floor a thorough wash with a mop bucket and this demonstrated how dirty it was. (2) The information folder states that TV reception is poor and can only be accessed (with difficulty) through I-Player. Many people would not be familiar with this and it restricts the number of channels available. In the circumstances it would be good practice to provide a DVD player and a selection of DVDs for clients to watch. (3) Similarly the heating system, operated through an App and device, is not straightforward. All rooms have to set individually and we found that, once turned on, the heating turns itself off after about 2 hours. Setting the timer was beyond the technical capability of 2 of us. (4) There is a serious shortage of storage space for food - ie no pantry. Clients booking self-catering in a remote location will expect to bring most of the food required with them. It was fortunate that there is a spare room where we stored food in boxes, and we also used the shelves on dressers among the crockery.

The location was amazing being a few minutes walk from the coast path.

The house is completely detached and plenty of private parking. Very comfortable sofas and beds, especially after a long day of walking and exploring thus fabulous area. The upstairs room and balcony is a real bonus, we enjoyed sitting out and having a cuppa while overlooking the huge garden and towards the sea view. There is a very handy utility room at the entrance into the house especially if have wet, muddy dogs! The electric heating was very efficient as the evenings were quite chilly. We agreed with other comments regarding needing some updating to the kitchen and bathroom. There was a few issues with cleanliness that needs addressing. The shower room is very modern yet has black mould both inside and outside the frame of the shower unit. The kitchen utensils and holders were very greasy, we gave everything a good wash in hot soapy water. The kitchen and bathrooms really could do with a deep lean. Having said that our week's holiday was the 28th September so getting towards the end of the season. A couple of things missing from the property is a mop and bucket also a clothes airer for those wet clothes when caught in rain. With a few improvements this place would be 5 stars all the way.

Ty Bryn is a lovely house and in a great setting, with green space & gardens around it.

We much enjoyed our stay and the location, near to the coastal path and to The Cliffs.. and nearby Nefyn. Some details of the accomodation slightly let it down, being truthfully honest. When you're going on holiday you want things to be pleasant. Various small details.. mugs all bit random, either chunky large, or small / mismatched. same with the cutlery. Upgrading details like this would not be difficult! Similarly, the fridge seems a tad elderly (afew rust spots etc.) however this didn't spoil our overall enjoyment. The heating tablet/app unfortunately seemed to have a mind of it's own. We easily mastered the basic controls - for either individual rooms, or multiple room controls. We also did not attempt to alter any other settings. But one or 2 rads would come on of their own volition, particularly in the yellow bedroom. It was the only one on when we arrived at the cottage and seemed to turn itself on at night, making the room v stuffy. (Our thanks to the original family that own the house by the way, lovely stylings and great upstairs room)

We found the property very clean however, in the cupboards there was a musty smell which lingered on the cups and so had to wash these before using.

The lounge downstairs and beds were extremely comfortable. Unfortunately we could not use the upstairs lounge as too dangerous for the dog to go up the open staircase. I have to say that if we had known before we booked Ty Bryn that the dog was NOT allowed in HIS BED in the BEDROOM - we would not have booked. This was NOT mentioned in the write up and only became clear when reading the Visitors book at the property. It was not ideal as our dog has anxiety issues. I can understand that some people may not adhere to them in their own beds but if you are accepting up to 2 dogs in the property then there should NOT be exclusions as to where they can go. We also had the gardener turn up on the Friday morning at 8am, we were still in bed and were alerted to a huge noise that sounded like an aeroplane overhead but in fact it was a man in orange clothing with a leaf blower walking past the bedroom window !! We did get an apology from the owners but felt that this should not of happened and to make sure it is done on changeover day.

Ty Bryn is quietly located and the main reception rooms upstairs and down are comfortable.

The kitchen is well equipped and the bed (superking) we used was very comfortable. It was a great base to explore the Llyn Peninsula. The Cliffs pub was excellent. Where the house could be improved is in the bathroom, shower room and kitchen. The shower was never hot just, eventually reasonably warm. There are no towel rails so we used the radiators in rooms we weren't using. The bathroom just needs updating. I ripped out a bathroom 20 years ago with similar tiles. The kitchen is sticky and slightly grubby. It needs a refresh. This is the second cottage we stayed at in two weeks in Wales and yet again the superking bed had only a king size duvet. So we supplemented with a single. Others have commented on the towels, they are beautifully soft but if 6 of us had stayed there they were a bit mean in quantity. As there were only two of us we had plenty. A few more clothes pegs would be useful too. Having said all this we liked the cottage and lived the upstairs room and roof terrace.
