About this property

Ballyfarnon 3 miles. A rural detached bungalow set in an elevated position outside the village of Ballyfarnon, close to the Sligo/Roscommon border. Surrounded by open countryside and views across to the Corran Mountains, this bungalow is great for families or groups of friends who are either looking to relax in peace and quiet or explore the local area. Once inside the hallway you will notice the character of the timber floors and tiles which run throughout. This then leads to the good-sized sitting room which has plenty of comfy seating with a cosy woodburning stove to relax in front of after a day full of adventures. Next door is the bright and airy dining room with a lovely tiled floor which then leads into a small, compact kitchen which is well-equipped to prepare some great evening meals. The bungalow has four bedrooms, with the flexibility of different sized beds, and a family shower room. To the outside of the bungalow is a front lawned garden with plenty of space to enjoy for the kids or adults alike. To the rear and sides of the bungalow are open fields which will be filled with cows and sheep in the summer months. Corran View is in the village of Geevagh with its own local pub. The nearest village is Ballyfarnon with a good selection of shops and pubs to enjoy, along with a playground. Lough Arrow is great if you fancy a spot of fishing as well as Lough Key with its Forest Park and Adventure Centre for those more active. You may wish to visit Arigna with its mining experience or Kilronan Castle and Spa for a day of pampering, whichever takes your fancy. Head south east and visit Carrick-on-Shannon and north west will take you to Sligo, both filled with charm and character for you to soak up, while enjoying the local culture and history on offer and also a range of traditional Irish pubs and restaurants for you to sample. Whatever you decide to do, you will surely enjoy this rural retreat with plenty of things to see and do nearby, all adding to your Irish getaway adventure.

Ballyfarnon is a small village located in the northern part of County Roscommon. The village is situated on the River Feorish at the foot of Arigna Mountain and has many popular lakes nearby for the keen fishermen amongst you. The Arigna coal mines that overlook the village are now home to the Arigna Mining Experience which is well worth a visit. Kilronan Castle is nearby and is now a luxury hotel to enjoy.
