About this property
Kenmare 1 mile. This well-presented, semi-detached holiday home is situated on the outskirts of Kenmare, overlooking Kenmare Bay, in County Kerry. In an excellent location for exploring the Wild Atlantic Way and the Ring of Kerry, this house will make a fantastic touring base for a family or group of friends. The property is set over two floors with three bedrooms, including a master room with a double bed and an en-suite shower room, so everyone should be well catered for. There is also a family bathroom and downstairs is an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining and sitting areas, offering plenty of space to prepare family feasts while keeping everyone together.
After eating, make your way to the sitting area and warm your toes by the open fire while everyone pitches their ideas for what the plan should be the following day. When the sun is shining, sit outside at the picnic bench with a cool drink and a book, while the young ones make use of the large communal lawn to the front of the property, or take a stroll down to the edge of Kenmare Bay and dip your toes in the water. The centre of Kenmare is just a short distance away, with a selection of local shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs that often showcase live traditional music.
Even closer to the house is the beautiful Kenmare Golf Course, where you can practice your swing whilst enjoying wonderful views of Kenmare Bay. The surrounding area is home to spectacular scenery that can be enjoyed with a leisurely stroll or a bike ride and while here, you should take the opportunity to jump in the car and discover the wold-famous Ring of Kerry and the Wild Atlantic Way. You will not be disappointed with the breathtaking views that await you, so make sure you pack your camera! Whatever the time of year you visit, this fabulous property is sure to provide an incredible destination for your Irish adventure.
Kenmare is a pretty town set on Kenmare Bay, overlooking the glittering Atlantic Ocean. This area is filled with lovely scenery, good beaches, and fascinating wildlife, making Kenmare a great base for exploring the surrounding region. The town itself has a farmers' market, art galleries, boutique shops and some excellent restaurants. The fabulous National Park at Killarney is just over half an hours drive from Kenmare, and Killarney town offers amenities, attractions and festivals throughout the year.

It is very peaceful with wonderful views over the estuary, yet only 15 minutes walk to shops and bars. Inside the house is very spacious but could do with some maintenance. The cooker worked but was very hard to regulate. The whole house needed a good clean.

Great views from the property. Very quite location but only 1 mile from town centre. The owner arrived a few minutes after we called to say we had arrived to show us around and how everything worked. Had a great time despite the weather everyone wherever you go very friendly and helpful.

This House: We enjoyed our stay. The location is great with wonderful open views across the tidal estuary and beyond. The house is at the end of a spacious cul-de-sac which in September was always peaceful with almost zero traffic as many houses were not occupied. Easy car parking on the wide drive. It is a 20 minutes walk into Kenmare with its pubs, restaurants, cafes, galleries and local shops. There is a petrol station with Spar shop about 10 minutes walk, and an Aldi and Lidl on the far edge of the town centre. The house is spacious for 4 adults and will cope with 6 easily. Big entrance hall with hooks for outdoor coats and plenty of space for shoes. Big downstairs loo. Comfortable beds and enough clothes etc storage.The bathrooms will benefit from a refurb. The ensuite (not photographed) shower has irritatingly variable performance; the over-the-bath shower in the main bathroom is good but water escapes from beneath the screen (and we tried very hard to stop this happening). The dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer worked well but no outdoor drying facilities although plenty of space. Kitchen appliances a bit dated but all worked satisfactorily and there were plenty of cleaning liquids and dishwasher / laundry tablets. Good cupboard space, plenty of crockery, cutlery. There is no hairdryer, and no wifi (which is accurately noted in the description). The charge for electricity seemed high to us If I owned this property I would renew all the outdoor photos as several are now out of date - work has been done to enhance the spacious communal lawn area, and I would show the estuary when the tide is in as well as out. I would consider adding a third shower in the downstairs toilet, and review the current 2 bathrooms.
