A contemporary barn conversion, set in a pretty courtyard setting of four barns, Chestnut Barn nestles deep in the private 1500 acre Notgrove Estate.
One of four beautifully furnished, modern barns, the accommodation boasts a contemporary, open-plan ground floor living space including a ground floor bedroom and en-suite bathroom. French doors lead from the living space to a pretty front courtyard with outdoor furniture and barbecue.
Upon entering the lobby into Chestnut Barn, you are immediately drawn to the modern touches of this stunning barn. The sitting room area is has a sumptuous sofa and dining area, perfect for enjoying a relaxing evening. The ground floor bedroom has two single zip and link beds that can be joined together as a king-size if required and its own en-suite shower room, ideal if disabled access is required. Two further bedrooms with king-size zip and link beds can be found on the first floor off the spacious landing, both with their own shower or bathroom.
Opposite the property, a shared games room with a pool table, table tennis, bar football, beanbags, a television and much more, is the perfect place for our younger guests to make new friends during their stay. Behind the games room is a children's play area.
High up on the Cotswolds Hills, Notgrove village has just 32 cottages and is the same size now as it was in the Doomsday Book of 1086. Stunning scenery, beautiful walks and cycle routes are right on your doorstep along with the estates alpacas, highland cows, donkeys and goats. The village also boasts a licenced cafe and bar and for those who like to walk to the pub, the neighbouring villages of Naunton and Cold Aston both have thriving local pubs selling local beer.
Although all the Barns were designed with accessibility in mind, please be aware Chestnut Barn is not ideally suited to wheelchair users as the space around the furniture in the main living area is restricted (see below additional information).
For larger groups wishing to holiday together, Hazelnut Barn (accommodating eight guests); Cobnut Barn (accommodating eight guests) and Walnut Barn (accommodating eight guests) are also available to book, subject to availability.
Additional Information:
Two well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge). A water bowl, food bowl, towel and poo bags are provided for our canine visitors. Please restrict your dog to the ground floor and keep them on a lead around the farm.
Children and babies welcome (one travel cot and one highchair available free of charge and upon request - please supply your own cot linen). With prior notice of at least one week, we can provide a booster seat for the dining table; a baby bouncer; a toddler step; non-slip bath mat; toilet training seat or a potty.
The bedding is non-feather.
The barn has gas and solar thermal underfloor heating.
An initial basket of logs for the wood burning stove is provided.
As well as the usual pots, pan, crockery and cutlery etc. we also provide: Tea bags, coffee, sugar, tea towels, oven gloves, washing up liquid, washing up cloths, dishwasher tablets, weighing scales, a kitchen roll, bin bags and hand wash.
A tumble dryer is available in the games room.
It is a working farm so tractors and livestock are around.
Accessibility: The Barns cater for those with limited mobility as they were designed and built with open-plan en-suite wet rooms with grab rails; one ground floor bedroom in Chestnut, Cobnut and Hazelnut, and all ground floor bedrooms in Walnut; open-plan kitchen/diner/living areas; one level inside and outside the Barns (no steps); accessibility entry and exit doors to Barns and Games Room. However, please be aware Chestnut Barn is not ideally suited to wheelchair users as the space around the furniture in the main living area is too narrow. Local hire company The Mobility Store can also supply mobility equipment during your stay.
EV charger available. The EV charger is payable on usage via the App but cannot be pre-booked.
WiFi connection and speed does vary as we are in a rural area and any connection is subject to change, as is any mobile phone connection.
