No smoking inside the property.. Dating back to 1860, this large Victorian property enjoys views over the surrounding fields towards Butterley Reservoir and Pentrich, and has been beautifully furnished to provide holiday accommodation of a very high standard. Adjoining the owner’s home – which formerly served as the Vicarage – it has a games room with full-size snooker table, pool table, professional table football, as well as outdoor table tennis. A fine base for touring the Peak District – lying in an area offering a wealth of attractions for visitors.
For those with a penchant for shopping, there are many factory shops in the area, including McArthurGlen Designer outlet, RAB outdoor clothing outlet, De Bradelei Mill Shop at Belper, Armstrongs Mill Shop at Ilkeston. There are Farmers’ and regular Weekly markets in many of the nearby towns including Bakewell and Ashbourne. Alton Towers, Britain’s premier theme park, is close by. Younger children will also enjoy Gullivers Kingdom and Matlock Farm Park at nearby Matlock.
Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy the excellent facilities at Carsington Water, whilst Shipley Country Park has miles of meandering footpaths and bridleways. At the Midland Railway Centre, transport enthusiasts can take in the nostalgia of the age of steam and travel through countryside for 7 miles. Meanwhile the National Tramway Museum at Crich offers a family day out in a relaxing atmosphere of a bygone era. Cromford Mills is a unesco World heritage Site and is well worth a visit with Café and shops etc. Stately homes gracing the area include Chatsworth House ( including gardens, parkland, farmyard and adventure playground ), Haddon Hall (a fine medieval manor house) and Hardwick Hall and Kedleston Hall (a fine example of the architecture of Robert Adam). Tennis, riding, golf and swimming at Alfreton, 2 miles. Derby, 12 miles, offers cathedral, museums and good shopping. Village shops 200 yards.

Plenty of parking, big house, most rooms with en suite, clean and tidy.Main oven broken, two air fryers but with 12, formal dinner was tricky.Decor and furnishings are tired.Games room fun.Plenty of bowls, cups, glasses and pots.Location is private, sheltered courtyard.As long as you're using it as a base, and don't worry about the furnishings, it's absolutely fine.

Lovely large house for our extended family break.Fab big bedrooms most en-suite so brilliant we all had our own space.Well equiped kitchen with large table with plenty of space to all eat together.Ample space for car parking.
