Guests say

Wildersley Farm - The Farm House is a beautifully appointed and luxurious property, praised for its high standard of decoration, spaciousness, and peaceful, secluded setting. Guests have enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen, stunning garden, and high-end hot tub, making it ideal for a relaxing and indulgent stay. While some minor issues were noted, the overall experience has been overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return.

The property is consistently described as spotlessly clean, with several reviews highlighting its immaculate condition. One mention of mice suggests a slight deduction, but overall, the cleanliness is highly regarded.

The location is appreciated for its convenience to local attractions and peacefulness, despite some concerns about the access road condition. The proximity to Belper and the scenic setting are positives, but the difficult track affects the score.

Guests find the property comfortable, with a well-laid-out kitchen/dining area and luxurious touches. However, some reviews mention a lack of wardrobes and hanging space in bedrooms, which slightly impacts the comfort level.

The facilities are generally praised, especially the kitchen and hot tub. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as a broken wine fridge, shower problems, and the need for additional fridges, which suggests room for improvement.

While guests have mentioned receiving gifts and appreciated the provision of robes and slippers, there is not enough consistent information on the thoughtfulness of the hosts across the reviews to provide a score. It should be noted that gifts are a kind gesture and not guaranteed.

Belper, situated in the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage site, is a town with a long and famous history dating back to the 13th century, when it was then called Beaurepaire (beautiful retreat), a name that still holds true today. Now you'll find it to be a spirited and bustling town, with attractions including the North Mill, Long Row and the River Gardens. There is a thriving local music and arts scene and the town hosts an annual Arts festival every May as well as Winter and Summer Food festivals and a monthly Farmers Market. The nearby historical village of Wirksworth is also home to a well-established Art and Architecture trail and Arts Festival every September. Just 10 miles away, the popular Peak District town of Matlock, together with its neighbour, Matlock Bath, are set in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent. The Matlocks offer a range of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as a whole host of other exciting attractions. Magnificent views down the gorge can be enjoyed from the cable car, which takes visitors up to the Heights of Abraham - a great place for all the family! South of the town is the start of the High Peak Cycle Trail, whilst to the north lie the market town of Bakewell and Chatsworth House - not to be missed! The award-winning town of Belper provides holidaymakers with an excellent base for all that Derbyshire has to offer.

The property definitely has the wow factor. It is beautifully presented and very clean. It is very spacious and the bedrooms are comfortable. There were plenty of lovely small touches such as robes, slippers, toiletries and towels for showering and for the hot tub. The kitchen area is huge and there are plenty of utensils. The outdoor area is lovely but does need a bit of TLC. The cushions on the garden furniture are a bit tired and also the ones for the firepit area need replacing. It was a bonus having a hot tub which was very clean. Another lovely touch was a basket of blankets and hot water bottles outside. The owners have thought of lots of special little things to make your visit more comfortable. The dirt track on the way to the house is a bit challenging but do-able. There is an Aldi and Morrisons a short drive away. We had a fantastic time and would not hesitate to book again.

There is barely any natural light in the yellow bedroom as the plants have grown over the windows. The driveway situation should also be mentioned as all our guests not in 4x4 had issues with grounding. Please make guests aware they need to bring toilet roll and toiletries as 1 roll per person for 7 days and a tiny travel sized shower gel for 2 people for 7 day isn’t enough. The outside cushion could also do with replacing as they were stained and dirty. I don’t want to seem negative as we had a good time but these are very cheap and easy things to resolve and would make a massive difference.

Both the indoor and outdoor space at Wildersley Farm House are incredible. The house is stunning, finished beautifully, contains everything we needed and more, including optional baby items free of charge. Outside the grounds are perfect for relaxing, eating, playing, with several seating areas, hot tub, fire pit, loungers, BBQ and garden games. The booking process was really easy, information was provided at the time of booking with further details closer to the time of our stay. All questions were answered quickly and helpfully. Zero issues finding the house (although the road down to the house is a little bumpy so if you have the option of a 4x4 over a sports car maybe go for the 4x4), entry to the property was simple and as described but it was great knowing that Ami was on hand if we had any issues. We are already planning our return 10/10
