Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot and highchair. Enclosed lawned garden with patio, garden furniture and barbecue. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. A beautiful stone-built, detached cottage, renovated in 2020, with far-reaching countryside views, Barn View offers modern facilities along with original exposed beams. The ground floor consists of a living/dining room with stone-built fireplace, along with a separate well-equipped kitchen. On the first floor you will find two well-appointed bedrooms as well as a family bathroom complete with a spa bath. The cottage is situated on the owner’s working farm with cattle, ducks, geese, chickens, and horses, and is an ideal holiday location (stabling available).
A plethora of walks can be taken from the doorstep and coarse fishing can be found ½ mile away. Chatsworth House, Bolsover Castle, Hardwick Hall and the Heights of Abraham are just a selection of the many attractions within a 10-mile drive of the cottage. Bakewell is the ancient capital of the Peak District, and is just under a half an hour drive away, famous for its puddings. Shop 4 miles, pub 3 miles, restaurant 5 miles.

Lovely comfortable cottage. Good location for visiting the Peaks & towns, Matlock & Bakewell. Farm shop tearoom’s & restaurant very good a short distance from the cottage.It was exceptionally hot when we stayed so spent a bit of time within the cottage as we had our dog. Some cushions for the garden furniture & a parasol would be good. Also, no utensils or lighter for the bbq which would have been useful & perhaps a fan for the bedroom. Otherwise very well equipped. Bonus 2 bathrooms & bedrooms. Milk & biscuits on arrival appreciated. Would recommend.

Very comfortable. The beds were comfortable too. Upstairs was very warm as we had exceptional weather while we were there. There were only skylights upstairs in the bedrooms. The garden was nice and shady in the afternoon and evening.

The cottage is very clean, comfortable and spacious, and set in a quiet and peaceful location. The garden is dog safe as well as being enclosed. The owners are friendly and helpful. There are plenty of places to visit in the local area, and the there is a good local farm shop/ cafe nearby, and large supermarkets in the local town. We very much enjoyed our time at Barn View and would definitely recommend.
