Stonegarth is a charming cottage in the peaceful village of Gainsborough, appreciated for its cleanliness, comfortable beds, and pleasant garden. Guests enjoy the local pub and find it a good base for exploring. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, but the welcoming atmosphere and potential for a relaxing stay are well-regarded.
The property is generally found to be clean and tidy, with several guests commenting positively on its cleanliness. However, there were isolated complaints about smelly towels and not-so-fresh bedding, slightly affecting the score.
The location is praised for its peacefulness and proximity to Lincoln, with a welcoming local pub nearby. The village serves as a good base for exploration, contributing to a high score.
Guests find the beds super comfortable and the garden a delight. However, discomfort from an old sofa and a stiff shower tap has been mentioned, leading to a slightly lower score.
The cottage is equipped with modern comforts and a nice garden. Points were deducted for reported issues with Wi-Fi, fusty kitchen units, and suggestions for a washing machine. Some guests also suggested improvements like a log burner and underfloor heating in the bathroom.
While guests have mentioned welcome gifts and found the hosts responsive, there is not enough information to assess the consistency of thoughtfulness across all stays. Therefore, the score is set to null, and guests should note that such gestures, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.

This is the second time weve stayed at the cottage. It had everything we needed, was very clean and the hosts are always responsive to mesages. We would absolutely stay again. Thank you for a lovely visit!

We've just spent a week here and overall i would say it's a lovely little place.Overall it was clean and tidy and fairly well equiped , the village is peaceful and a good base to explore from , outside space was pleasant to sit on while the weather was good.Annabel was lovely and friendly, the welcome gifts were a nice surprise. We did however have a few niggles with the place - the slimline kitchen units which house the crockery etc unfortunately smells quite fusty and damp and this smell does transfer to the plates, cups and glasses.A good proportion of the crockery was quite chipped and or cracked and could do with replacing. The sofa is we personally found uncomfortable and is definitely in need of replacing. The wifi is quite spotty as it's been shared from the owners wifi next door and it did drop out quite often , we did bring this to the owners attention on one night and they reset the router the next morning which seemed to do the trick -for a couple of hours , and when it went again the following day and day after we just left it and used our mobile hotspots, maybe the cottage would benefit from it's own wifi rather than a shared wifi ?The hot and cold tap on the shower is quite stiff and when trying to control the temperature you'ld be forgiven in thinking that if you twisted the knob a bit harder it would break , but persevere and it will work .Personally i believe a washing machine would be a good addition , maybe replace the dishwasher with one ? Would we come back to Stonegarth in the future ? ..i would say yes especially if the issues raised were addressed.
