A comfortable semi-detached cottage situated next to the owner's home, in the hamlet of Ulpha, in one of the most stunning valleys in the Lake District, the Duddon Valley. As you approach the cottage up a private track through countryside you will be enthralled by the breathtaking scenery and the farm is nestled directly beneath Wallabarrow Crag, a favourite for climbers. If you wish for a tranquil get away from it all, this is a great rural break in outstanding scenery for you to holiday with family or friends. There are two comfortable bedrooms, both with views to the garden and fells at the back and is on the ground floor with the bathroom also on the same floor. The character kitchen with dining area has beams, with the cosy lounge waiting for you to enjoy at the end of your day’s activities. Enjoy the garden which has a small brook running through it along with views from all directions. With stable doors at the front and back out to the garden this delightful location is perfect for superb walking or cycling from the door. Locally, nature lovers will be spoilt with the area, as the farmland has one of the largest oak birch woodlands on its land, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest with a plethora of bluebells in spring. Historically there are also charcoal pigsteads and sheep washing dubs on the farm. Locally there are the Swinside Stone Circle, Barnscar Bronze Age Settlement at Devoke Water, with a Roman Fort on Hardknott Pass. Close by is also the single track steam train La’al Ratty which runs down to the coast at Ravenglass. Also the majestic Muncaster Castle is said to be haunted with its owl and hawk sanctuary with the Himlayan Garden and many more year round events. With this cottage’s idyllic location the superb walking has to be high on the agenda with Coniston Range Fells accessible from the door, along with the beautiful Duddon Valley to explore. Broughton-in-Furness is just 20 mins away, a historic village dating back to the 11th century with pub, restaurant and bakery as well as a historic square with stocks. This cottage is perfect for those seeking to enjoy this glorious area and truly get away from it all in a breathtaking location in this less crowded area of the lakes in all seasons.

Broughton-in-Furness is situated in the Lake District and is six miles from Coniston Water. The village provides an ideal base for a walking or climbing holiday of the Duddon Valley and the quieter Lake District fells. Norman Nicholson and William Wordsworth, both immortalised this area in their writing and poetry.
