This welcoming cottage forms part of a wing of an 18th century farmhouse, located on a working livestock farm on the outskirts of Gosforth, just 1.5 miles from Wasdale, Britain's 'favourite view' and 3 miles from beautiful Eskdale in the Lake District. This comfortable cottage features an open plan living area with a well-equipped kitchen, dining area and sitting area, while the bedrooms can either be super king-size doubles or twins providing flexibility for guests. Outside there is a patio area with a hot tub, and the adjacent large paddock is a great place for children to play games, plus there are nature walks throughout the owner's farmland for guests to enjoy.
This cottage enjoys a wonderful setting, in this quiet, beautiful area of West Cumbria. The high level walking and climbing available from the doorstep is unrivalled, with Scafell amongst the many walks to suit all skill levels. The area also offers fantastic bike trails, local pubs serving good traditional real ales and food, Muncaster Castle, an 18-hole golf course and a miniature railway. This cottage is a great base for a memorable holiday at whatever time you visit.
The small village of Gosforth offers a scattering of traditional cottages, farm dwellings, a post office, pubs serving good food, a church and the oldest Viking cross in England. Close by are the towering peaks of Scafell - England's highest peak, as well as Great Gable, Hard Knott, Harter Fell and Muncaster Fell, whilst the nearby valleys of Eskdale, Wasdale and Dunnerdale provide breathtaking scenery and there are many local attractions in the area including Muncaster Castle, the World Owl Centre and the Ravenglass to Eskdale miniature railway.

Walks from the door to forest and even across to Wastwater. Beds were super comfy. Hot tub was great. Plenty of space for 5 adults. Host accessible and replied to messages really quickly. Appreciate that it's a working farm, but dogs were quite noisy at times throughout the night.

We know the area very well as we lived locally in previous years. There was more than enough room for 4 adults, 1 teething baby, 1 very large dog, and a medium dog! The hosts where very quick to answer any questions/queries, and did their utmost to ensure we had everything we needed, and left us to our own devises with out swamping or mithering! The cottage is on a working farm, so if your not used to 'country life' this may be bit of a shock to the system! We absolutely loved our time here and would definitely book again!
